Y/N POV
It has been ten years since I left my parents and made a new life for myself. In that time I made a decent living. I got a job delivering food crates; the pay is somewhat decent and the job overall is good. Most deliveries are good but there has been a few that weren't. Those were quickly solved with my words. On that note because of that I have chosen to become silent for the majority of the time. After an accident at a old job I discovered that some words can have drastic consequences if I say them.
So to avoid a potentially deadly accident I only speak when the situation calls for it. Now I know what you're thinking, wouldn't it be hard to live life without speaking? To answer your question, no. I have found ways around that. I taught myself sign language and use it to communicate. When someone doesn't understand it I just mouth the words I want to say. But if all that fails then I just rely on the age old technique of facial expressions. I set the last crate down and walk to the person receiving the deliveries.
Man: "That the last of it?"
Y/N: *nods*
Man: "You don't talk much do you?"
Y/N: *nods*
Man: "Man of few words, I respect that." *hands Lien* "Here's the money, see you next month."
I bow and drive off back to my boss. I park and walk into the building when I hear laughing. I look and see one of the new females getting picked on. I roll my eyes and go help her out. I tap on one of the men's shoulder which causes him to look at me.
Man: "What'd you want?"
Y/N: *signs* "Leave her alone.*
Man2: "Mind your own business!"
He goes to punch me but I just turn to the right. I stick my foot making him trip and fall into a pile of boxes. The other men run at me and try to punch me. I wave their fists away and punch their stomachs. I then elbow drop their backs and watch them fall to the ground.
Girl: "Thank you."
I nod and walk into the building. I head to my boss' office to tell him that I finished my delivery and about the incident I just stopped. But when I reach his office he is resting his hands near his mouth and is sporting an angry look.
Boss: "Sit down L/N."
Y/N: *signs* "Is everything okay?"
Boss: "No."
He presses a button on his desk and the footage of my fight with the three men is shown.
Boss: "You had a fight on company grounds."
Y/N: "But sir! They were bullying one of the new girls!"
Boss: "You still raised a hand to them."
Y/N: "They hit first!"
Boss: "The suits aren't gonna see that. All they're going to see is your attack connecting."
Y/N: "You know I was only helping her."
Boss: "I know but our company has strict rules about no fighting. You know what this means."
Y/N: "Sir no, please! I need this job!"
Boss: "I'm sorry, but I need to let you go. I'll give you the rest of the day to gather your things."
I clench my fists but get up and begin gathering everything from my locker. I look at my previous job and sigh before walking back to my apartment. I set my stuff down and plop down on my bed when there is a knock on the door. I answer it to see a man in a green suite.
Y/N: *mouths* "Yes?"
Ozpin: "Greetings, my name is Ozpin, mind if I come in?"
I open my door and we sit down in my living room.
Y/N: "Mind I ask what you're doing here?"
Ozpin: "I'll cut straight to it. You just lost your job correct?"
Y/N: "How is it you know that?"
Ozpin: "Details aren't important. What is important is that I am offering you a place at my school."
Y/N: "Why me?"
Ozpin: "Because something about you intrigues me and I wish to know what it is. Will you join?"
Y/N: "What do I get in return?"
Ozpin: "Meals and a place to stay."
I look down and weight out my decision.
Y/N: "I'll join your school."
