New Student

Y/N POV

Ozpin: "What is your name?"

Y/N: "You can move."

Girl: *sign language*

Ozpin: "I don't suppose you understood that?"

I nod and point to the door asking to leave us. He nods and heads out of his office. I take seat on Ozpin's desk and try to get some answers from the girl.

Y/N: *sign language* "What's your name?"

Neo: "Neo."

Y/N: "What is Roman planning?"

Neo: "Why should I tell you?"

Y/N: "Because you're his accomplice."

Neo: "That bastard left me! I have cut all ties with him."

Y/N: "Was he someone special to you?"

Neo: "Why you wanting to know?"

Y/N: "Because I know what it's like to suffer at the hands of someone who is supposed to love and care for you."

Neo tilts her head when I turn around and show her the bruises and scars accumulated from the years of abuse from my parents. I cover it back up and turn to Neo.

Y/N: "My home life wasn't stable. From the time I was born to when I was ten I was abused. Most of it was from my father but my mother had her share of it. But she only did it so she could spare herself from his anger. They made my life hell and I wanted nothing more than for it all to stop. But one day I took charge and left them. I packed up everything I had, came here to Vale and set out on making a living for myself."

Neo: "How did it go?"

I look to the sky for a moment before shrugging.

Y/N: "Mostly good. The only bad thing was that I lost my old job. But that ended with me coming here to learn how to be a Huntsman. What about you, what was home like for you?"

Neo: "I didn't exactly have one. I had to grow up on the streets; it went about as well as you could expect. I sat on sidewalks begging people for money and scraped through trashcans just to find my next meal. But that all changed when Roman found me. He took me in and gave me everything I ever wanted. I honestly saw the rest of my life with him. But, you can see how well that ended."

Y/N: "You know, there's plenty of room here at Beacon. If you join you'll have all those things you got from Roman. A warm bed, roof over your head and all you can eat food."

Neo: "I don't know, what if people don't want an ex criminal here?"

Y/N: "Then I'll be sure to beat them into a coma until they change their minds."

Neo silently laughs then we sit in silence for a few minutes.

Y/N: "So will you join?"

Neo places her hand on her chin and thinks on the question.

Neo: *nods*

Y/N: *mouths* "Then welcome to Beacon."

I hold out my hand and she shakes my hand. At that point Ozpin comes back into his office and stands in front of us.

Ozpin: "Have you two come to an agreement?"

Y/N: *mouths* "Yes, Neo here will be joining Beacon."

Ozpin: "That's good to hear. Miss Neo, could you stay here so that we can fill out the appropriate paperwork?"

Neo nods and sits down while I head to my dorm. I fall face first on my bed and sigh when there is a knock on the door. I open the door to see Neo.

Y/N: "Neo? What're you doing here?"

Neo: "I came here because this is where I'll be sleeping."

I sigh internally and curse Ozpin for setting this up. I let her inside and see her take one of the three empty beds. I look at the clock and see it's past ten.

Y/N: "It's getting late, we should get ready for bed. The bathroom's yours to use."

She nods and heads into the bathroom while I slip on a shirt and shorts. When I sit on my bed I see Neo come out of the bathroom in only her underwear. My jaw drops which makes her look at me.

Neo: "What?"

Y/N: "Where are your night clothes!?"

Neo: "The only clothes I have to wear is what I had on earlier."

I facepalm and shake my head. This is going to be a long four years. I walk over to my dresser and pull out one of my spare shirts. Neo puts it on and it covers everything important. I turn the bedroom light off and quickly fall asleep. My eyes open to the bright sun making me yawn. I try to get up but feel this weight on me. I throw off the covers to see Neo in my bed clinging to my side.

Neo: *yawns* "Good morning."

Y/N: "Why are you in my bed?"

Neo: "I sleep walk. I must have gotten into your bed sometime in the night. Sorry."

Y/N: "No worries, just next time tell me you sleep walk okay?"

Neo nods and gets off the bed. We both get dressed and head to the cafeteria to get some breakfast.
