Coal's PoV:
We all raced down the stairs to the bedrooms. "Lapis... where will we sleep?" Chocolate asks, gazing up at our leader with his large, adorable eyes.
"Well..." the older boy replies, looking around and doing a quick count. "We could move the beds around, and all have a sleepover if you like that idea"
"Yes!" Chocolate quickly nods, presumably relieved that he wouldn't be on his own.
"Okay, we need 10 mattresses in one of the rooms" Lapis declares, before glancing over at me. "Will you be joining us?"
"Yeah" I agree, "sounds fun"
"Okay, make that 11!" Lapis corrects, "We can take them to... my old room, if you like"
Most of the children didn't like staying in their old rooms... due to the painful reminder of what they'd lost. I believe Emerald was the only exception to that, he had insisted on staying in the room he used to share with his father... maybe this sleepover would be a good distraction for him.

"Lime said we have to go sleep now" Indigo reminds us.
"Come on, one more game?" Rose begs
"Nope. Listen to the adults" Lemon declares
"Well I think we should put it up to a vote" Scarlet shrugs, the most helpful contribution so far.
Chocolate yawns loudly, making the rest of us laugh. "Nope! I wanna stay awake still!" He insists, but we all know that he was tired.
"We should go to sleep now" Lapis agrees. "We have a new day tomorrow, and need energy!"
"Okay" we all agree, so Emerald waits until everyone has got to their beds before switching the lights off.
Heh... I kinda wish I was wearing my helmet right now... they have night vision, that's how us imposters could see when the lights got sabotaged.
Clearly a few of the others weren't too keen on the dark either, I distinctly heard a whimper come from Chocolate's direction, and a couple of other people uncomfortably shifting around.
Eventually, I managed to doze off.

Something startled me, jolting me from my sleep. A bang, and a loud one, followed by a scream.
Bolting upright, I face the direction of the noise. Moans of pain could be heard, and most scarily of all, I was pretty sure I knew who they were coming from.
"What was that?!" Another person exclaimed, clearly awoken by the sudden noise. Emerald, who crashed into the wall, fumbling for the light switch.
The lights flickered on, causing us to squint and rapidly blink for a few seconds, before taking in the sight that lay before us.
Scarlet, on the floor, blood seeping out from her stomach... and the person stood a few feet away, gun in hand?
Teal.
