Varian strolled down the stairs he walked right past our jail cell and went to one next to it. He whispered a few things into the persons ear and walked right past us again but he turned around.
"Right, I had almost forgotten your little, sorry big friend. He looked at Lance. "I'll be coming back in a while to get him out of there, don't worry you won't be stuck with him for long.
"No"! I yelled, "that's not fair"!
"Oh, but it is, their's no reason for him to be there there is no cure". "You can't save him".
He walked away with no emotion in his face. He looked back for a second and without hesitating he said. "Who knows who I'll take out next". His eyes lingered on me to infer that I was next but then his expression changed.
"Perhaps instead of taking her out first I should hurt the ones she cares about most until she's broken". He voiced his thoughts out loud and I winced. I didn't want that to happen.
"Varian, what did I ever do to you"?
"Oh, Rapunzel you only did one thing but it was enough to do this to me. He pointed at himself in his terrible outfit.
"Goodbye, also you might want to say that to your friend before I come back because you won't be seeing him again, Rapunzel. You could tell he hated by name by the way he spat it out like it was poison. He hurried up the stairs. Not wanting to stay another second. I let go of the bars and a slid to the floor. I looked back at Lance. What would he do with him. I didn't want to think about it. Cass laid a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey it's gonna be okay". She said her voice wavering just the slightest. She was right, there was only one thing I could do right know. I turned to Lance.
"Goodbye".
