Chapter 8

Finally.. the time to promote "Not Shy" has come. You and the members were so excited when y'all were on y'all's way to the M-Net building. When you got out of the van, all you could hear were the clicking of cameras and the high pitched screaming coming from fans. You and the members said hello to the cameras and fans and took a few pictures before y'all were lead inside the building. Y'all ran up the flights of stairs to head to the dressing rooms to change before y'all headed to the main stage.

A bunch of stylists and staffs started to crowd you and you tried to back out of it but just got held down instead. One of the many stylists runs up to you and starts to fix your clothes and hair. Someone helps you put your mic transmitter and monitor recorder on the back of your pants as another person hands you your pair of in-ears.

You slip those in well as your makeup artist runs up to you and fixes your make up. Not going to lie... You were getting pretty overwhelmed by all the people around you. You knew that you'd get used to it but there was a LOT going on at once. In the middle of your thoughts, you feel someone stuff their hand down your boot and your eyes widen before you look down.

"Sorry Y/N. Your pants were all ruffled at the top of your boot. It needed to be tucked in more." The stylist explains, not even taking a glance at you as she continues fixing your outfit.

"Oh it's all good. I was just surprised by the sudden touch." You reassure, a nervous chuckle escaping your lips.

"Well.. I think you're all ready to hit the stage. Everything seems perfect. You can go with Yeji and watch groups perform by the main stage. We'll see you in a bit for final touches." A stylist explains, while gesturing towards Yeji.

You nod your head and the crowd of staffs and stylists walk away from you to go to their next target. You walk over to Yeji who's watching a group exit the main stage, her eyes completely glued onto them. You drape your arms over her shoulders when you walk up behind her, causing Yeji to jump and turn around to look at you.

"Man you scared me.. You ready for your first performance?" Yeji asks, while clutching onto her chest.

"Heck yeah! I'm excited... and nervous." You reply, while a nervous chuckle as you bring an arm up to run the back of your neck.

"It's okay to be nervous. It's your first stage. But I know you can do it. You've been trained to do so."

Yeji gives you a warm smile and hugs you, causing you to smile and hug her back. She breaks the hug and turns to peek over at the stage again, her eyes quickly scanning the stage.

"After the next group performs, it'll be our turn."

"Damn.. it's gonna happen so quickly.."

Yeji starts to massage your shoulders to calm you as you adjust your in-ears. A little smile makes it's way onto your lips and look back at her, making Yeji smile herself before she looks ahead of you.

"Uhh.. do you see who's across from us?" Yeji asks, while looking over at you, her arm draping over your shoulder.

"No.. why?" You reply, while peeking over at the stage after looking back at her.

"Girl, look!" Yeji points to the other side of the stage and you follow where she's pointing. Your eyes land on a guy adjusting his in-ears and mic transmitter from across the stage and your eyebrows, confused.

"What about him? It's just a-" The guy turns around and the second you realize who it is, your eyes widen. "San.." You mumble.

"ATEEZ, please report to the main stage to start y'all's performance."

You and Yeji watch as all the Ateez members walk up onto the stage with little smiles. They start to talk with the staffs behind the cameras and you soon hear laughter coming from both the members and the staffs. San turns around towards Wooyoung (Yes you know his name. You HAD to look into the group and you kinda ended up memorizing all the member' names and faces...) with a huge dimple smile on his face.

You can't help but smile at the two boy's interaction and Yeji smiles when she sees your reaction. After a few minutes, the members get into their places and Hongjoong gives a thumbs up to the camera crew, mentioning that they're ready. You watch a staff nod their head and seconds later, Inception starts to play and you immediately get mesmerized by Yeosang getting pushed back by the members.

You and Yeji's jaws were dropped and wide open during their whole performance. It was so hard to not fangirl out loud but somehow... you managed to keep it in. Yeji legit had to clamp her hand over your mouth to stop you from letting anything slip when Seonghwa took center stage and pulled his shirt up. What? Do you SEE him? Mr. PARK-

The only thing that you were thinking about during most of stage was that that the San that you saw on that stage... could NOT be the same San that you met at the Cafe the other day. They had to have switched San out for his twin or SOMETHING.

But it quickly hit you that he has MASSIVE duality and you soon felt like an idiot for thinking he had a twin. Their performance soon ended and you let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding in and you do a little hair shake before moving a tad closer to the curtain so you could get a better view.

When the lights went back to normal, you could hear all the members' heavy breathing. They all thanked the staff fairly quickly and they start to walk towards you and Yeji. You both quickly bolted off and ran to random staffs and pretended to fix y'all's clothes. You hear their footsteps behind you and they all shouted, making you and the members turn around towards them, a little frightened.

"ITZY, fighting!!" The members yell, while shaking their fists in the air and giving little smiles.

"Fighting!" You and the members repeat, while doing the same gesture. They all start to wave goodbye and walk off and San gives you the biggest smile before he runs after the members. Yunho ends up walking up to you and you look up at his tall figure in front of you.

"Meet me by y'all's waiting room when y'all are done performing. I need to tell you something important." Yunho says, while slipping his in-ears out. You nod your head and you both smile at each other before he runs off.

"ITZY, please report to the main stage to start y'all's performance."

A staff gives you your headset and you quickly slip it on and adjust it to your liking before you run to the main stage with the members. When you step onto the stage, you admire y'all's set for a few seconds before you follow Ryujin up onto the second floor of the set. She hands you your prop gun before she walks to her given spot. You start to twirl your prop around your finger as you wait for the staffs to ready the cameras and get everything situated.

"We're ready when y'all are." A staff announces. You see a camera get pointed at you and you stare at it for a bit before you realize it's your fan-cam camera. You immediately start to mess around with it by throwing quick gestures and moving back and forth, earning a little laugh from the cameraman behind the camera. You smile widely and fix your grip on your prop before Yeji yells something.

"ITZY fighting!" Yeji yells, while raising her fist in the air.

"Fighting!!" You and the members yell back. Yeji gives a thumbs up to the main camera crew and the music stars to play in a matter of seconds.

Good god please don't mess this up...
