The last thing we did before heading to the hotel was having dinner out at Red Robin, and I could eat my food just fine.
The next morning was Easter. I woke up to see a basket on my side of the bed, only to hear music playing. I listened closer to realize that I was getting rickrolled.
Amber was at her job already, so it was me and Taylor with Emily.
Shortly after eating brunch in the lobby, Amber came back with tears in her eyes.
"Back so soon?" I asked.
"It's been canceled." she said.
"What? Why?"
"Because the theater is under construction."
"So we're going home?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
Emily gave Amber a hug.
"Well, it was all this fun for nothing." Taylor said to me.
"Exactly." I said.
We went back home with our Easter baskets and everything.
The week of spring break was pretty relaxing. We killed time by chilling at our home and Amber teaching me to drive. I got my bangs cut on Thursday, and we went to Navy Pier on Friday.
On Saturday evening, I was on a walk with Amber, when all of a sudden, I saw who could be no one other than Patrick! Looking up, I accidentally tripped over a huge crack. I was in a bit of pain, but I was okay.
"Feeling okay? You good?" a voice asked.
I looked up immediately to realize it was Patrick. "Oh, Patrick?" I said.
I looked familiar to him. "Zoey? Is that you?"
"Yeah." I tried to approach him gently. I didn't want to scare him.
Patrick smiled. "How are you?"
"Pretty good. How are you?"
"It's been fine." He looked tired. "Are you good? You seemed hurt."
"Yeah, I'm not hurt or bleeding. Are you okay, too?"
"Yeah, I am. Why?"
"It's okay. How are you feeling?"
"Tired, but I feel like I got something done! I was on House!"
"I heard about that. Congratulations. You did amazing."
"Thank you, Zoey!" Patrick gave me a hug. "How are you feeling?"
"Hanging in there. My spring break was fun."
"You're still in school, right?"
"Yeah. I'm a freshman."
"What did you do?"
"My sisters and I went on a trip to Vancouver on Easter weekend."
"How fun! What did you do there?"
"I went to see a movie, had breakfast in a hotel, rode on a train for the first time out of the country, had lunch with my sister's colleague, who grew fond of me, and went to a play place for a while before eating dinner. I also woke up to getting rickrolled on Easter."
Patrick laughed. "Sounds like you had a lot of fun."
"You didn't have a spring break, did you?"
Patrick laughed. "Nope. I'm not in school. But I did film for House. It was fun."
"I bet. Well, I have to get going soon, so I'll see you later."
"Bye, Zoey. It was great seeing you. Have a good day."
"You, too."
