"I can't be here. I'm going to...mind the perimeter."

Leon knew about Merlin's magic. And he also knew that Lancelot knew. The pair were almost inseparable when they were on patrols. Each time they rode out, they inevitably would come across bandits, or some angry sorcerer who wanted the Pendragon's all dead. Even though they were just angry with Uther, nothing to do with Arthur. When Leon had first spotted Merlin blatantly using magic to cause bandits to drop their swords, or branches to fall, he was grateful that the strange boy was on their side. He was constantly protecting Arthur, and Leon knew that there was no one better suited to do it, than Merlin. Leon was the First Knight of Camelot under King Arthur, and was not afraid to admit that sometimes magic could be used for good. That it was as useful as a sword, or any tool. He'd seen how Morgana had let her fear and anger take control of her. Add magic to the mix and you get a crazy witch bent on deposing her half-brother and making anyone and everyone in her path suffer at her imagined slights.

That wasn't the point though. The point was, that Merlin was getting reckless. He was no longer hiding when his eyes would flash gold, causing a branch to drop on someone's head, or a saddle's girth to suddenly snap. Leon wanted to pull his hair out. Arthur wasn't his father but he still wasn't ready to accept magic as anything other than a deadly punishable crime. He'd figured out that Gwaine probably knew about the magic Merlin had as well, but that Merlin didn't know that Gwaine knew. They had just gotten away from one of these skirmishes and decided to set up camp for the night. As the Knights stood around, getting their bed rolls out, Merlin kneeled before the small stack of wood he'd gathered for a fire and didn't even pretend to use a flint. What was he thinking!? Leon groaned, which caught Merlin and Lancelot's attention.

"I can't be here. I'm going to go...mind the perimeter." Leon rubbed his eyes with his hand and walked away. He'd heard a whispered argument, before there were footsteps behind him.

"Sir Leon", Lancelot said, catching up to him.

"Sir Lancelot", Leon responded.

"What exactly did you see back there?" Lancelot questioned, looking to the horizon.

"Please. I'm not in the mood for this right now. I know of Merlin's abilities, if you will. And I know that you know. Gwaine also knows, not that any of you have figured it out." Leon grumbled crossing his arms and leaning against a tree.

"Leon. Please you mustn't say anything." Lancelot was pleading.

"Lance, if I had planned on telling anyone, anything, I would have done it years ago. I know he's protecting Arthur. Has been since he came to Camelot, though it took me most of his first year there to figure it out. If he doesn't want to get caught or he wants to tell everyone himself, he needs to stop blatantly using magic in front of everyone. It's giving me a migraine, his lack of self preservation." Leon rubbed his face again. Lancelot chuckled.

"Fair point. I'll pass it on. And, thank you. For looking out for him." Lancelot added. Leon nodded and continued walking the perimeter until his head finally didn't feel like it was going to split. When he turned around, he caught a glimpse of gold in Merlin's eyes, before they were blue again. Merlin had caused and then remedied his headache. Leon shook his head, but gave a look of thanks to the secret warlock.
