Chapter 5 - Reunite

"Ace! Kai!" shouted Zenil as he shot the creatures with his bow and arrow, looking at them furiously. The Likowns were angry when Zenil shot his wind arrow at them aggressively, giving him a loud screech and pace faster to him. "The Likowns! They are here!" he warned them, shooting at the Likowns faster, giving the arrows his powers to knock them away from him and the others. "Watch each other's backs!" commanded Zenil directly. Kai stood frozen despite how they brought a lot of memories about his empire, while Ace drew his sword to fight them. Ace noticed that Kai froze, instead he gave him a hard push. "Kai! The Likowns are here! Be careful!" He told him, swinging his sword to the Likowns. They are here! They are here! Kai broke his coldness and nodded quickly, taking his blades along with covering his face with his mask.

The Likowns are bad news to all. They looked like raptors, the only thing they look different is by their face and long tail. Long scaly tail they had, long arms and legs, a head looked like a cat's skull with yellow eyes. They had sharp teeth and claws. They are the most feared creatures that people have to face. Their screeches are so loud even the whole country could hear that. "Ace! Kai! Run to the highest point of the valley!" Zenil commanded, letting go at the Likowns who almost attacked them. "You see that highest point of the valley?" Zenil asked as he pointed it to the point where the river lies in front of Ace and Kai. "I will meet you there! Now go!"

Ace and Kai did what Zenil told them to. Running towards the highest point of the valley takes time. Ace swung his sword around the Likowns, making sure that he and Kai were safe. How shocking the Likowns can appear from different directions. The screech of the Likowns are disturbing to Ace's ears since his ears are sensitive. "Noisy!" Ace snapped covering his ears. Now it is Kai's turn! Kai swung his blades at them as they appeared from different directions. Suddenly, so many Likowns were in front of them, snarling at them. Zenil was just running from behind, still aiming at the Likowns.

The Likowns began to roam around Kai and Ace. Ace was driven with fear, so did Kai. Stay focused, young one, a voice whispered through Kai's ears softly as the breeze. Kai widened his eyes with shock. Is that Koshi? Kai thought, holding his blades tightly. Kai started to remember what he, Benjamin and Feng trained. As for now, he's going to use the exact same strategy as the one he did back then. Kai started to activate his flames and lose focus as Ace hugged Kai so suddenly in fear. "Kai! We are doomed!" Ace shrieked loudly, right next to Kai's ears. Kai could not handle Ace's shrieking and began to start his plan.

He gently pushed Ace away from him. Holding his blades and focusing on his own flames, he immediately swung his blades faster to the Likowns. This made the Likowns screech loudly and they slowly backed away from the two, seeing Kai's flames as he walked closer to them. "I have no choice but to activate my flames," Kai raged, swinging his blades towards the Likowns. The Likowns were terrified of Kai's flaming blades. Ace was surprised by the fire that Kai delivered, so does Zenil who looked back at the light that he got while aiming.

"Come on! Keep running!" Zenil growled, narrowing his eyes at the upcoming Likowns from behind, still aiming for them. Ace and Kai continued running, running as swift as the cold breeze passing them. "Goodness, Kai! That's amazing!" admired Ace. "I did not know you, assassins, can do that," he added. Kai thanked him and he told him that Kai held the element of fire which he could control using his weapon. "The Likowns are still behind us!" Zenil snapped, running to the same direction as Kai and Ace. Ace shrieked louder and ran even faster than Kai and Zenil, even thrice faster than them, despite how panicked he was. "That scaredy cat!" Kai sighed and kept on running.

Finally, they made it to the highest point of the valley, where the waterfall lies. Ace and Kai huffed tiredly, trying to catch their breath. Kai looked down at a wide river and a huge waterfall next to him. Widening his eyes, he never planned to jump to the river for their safety. Running away from the Likowns is hard. They are twice faster than you, unless you had a strategy to lure them. Kai looked back and froze when he looked at the Likowns appearing randomly, ready to attack. "Oh brother," huffed Kai, glaring at the Likowns. "Man, we are doomed! So bad!" Ace squealed. Kai held his blades as Ace held his sword, narrowing their eyes angrily at the creatures. The Likowns attacked them so fast! Kai and Ace just had to swing their blades and sword randomly since they stayed away from the two easily with that. .hey tried their best not to fall off the cliff.
