(9) 2 Broken Hearts

Two months later 

Mara and Val were dropped off at the high school by Val's mom. They had a doctor's appointment to renew their birth control. Just as they were coming down the hallway the classes that were in second period let out. 

Mara stopped in her tracks when she seen Darius making out with another girl. 

"Val.." she whispered 

Val saw what had her attention. "Come on." She said 

Mara punched the locker beside them when they didn't stop when she cleared her throat. Darius let go of the girl's lips. 

"Mara baby..I." He said 

The girl was still standing there. "Unless you want me to kick your ass I suggest you leave now." Val said 

The girl ran off. Mara removed her promise ring and took off his letterman's jacket. "Mara I can explain." He said 

"You cheated! God knows how long this has gone on before I moved here!" She said and walked off. 

Declan had joined them. "Did you know?" Val said 

"No why would I know?" Declan said 

"Don't lie to me D." Val said 

Declan looked down as he rubbed the back of his neck. "We are over too. She is my family my cousin and you knew he was cheating on her." Val said as she threw her ring and his jacket at him and walked off to find Mara. 

Later that afternoon as the girls were leaving dance practice Steve and Bucky seen them. 

"Need a ride?" Bucky said 

"Val I can give you one. Your house is on my street." Steve said 

"Thanks." Val said as Steve picked up her bag. 

Bucky took Mara's bag. "Oh thanks." Mara whispered 

Val hugged her. "Call me if you need me okay? Remember what I said no crying. Cheaters don't deserve tears Mara." Val said 

Darius and Declan were making their way into the student parking lot. Val seen them and saw Darius making his way towards Mara. 

She stopped him. "Stay away from her before I make it to where you can never have kids." Val said and walked off to Steve's truck. 

Bucky picked up some pizzas on their way home since his mom was going to be working late and Victor was working a case. They enjoyed pizzas and movies in the theatre room. 

When they were both heading to bed. "Hey Bucky thank you for being there for me today." She said 

"Welcome." He said 

She was about to leave the room again. She stopped and turned back around. 

"Hey Buck.." she said 

"Yeah." He said as he stopped 

"Did you know?" She said 

He walked over to her. "He always talked about you, but Darius had a tendency to flirt around but no he never talked about cheating." He said as he wiped her tears that fell. 

"Thank you." She said 

"Get some sleep. And Val said no crying." He said as he hugged her.
