"Rowen? Baby girl... you awake?" a soft voice lulled in my ear causing me to smile. I knew that voice, it was the one that would read me bedtime stories at night. Sometimes even sing me to sleep. Groaning slightly with a smile on my face I stretched out one of my arms trying to find the course of the voice.
"Mommy?" I whispered my eyes still shut, this felt like a dream. Even though I knew how real it was.
"Oh my baby girl! I was so worried about you." the voice sobbed as two small hands clasped around my own gently. Blinking my eyes open slightly I looked up into my moms chocolatey brown eyes and grinned. My mom was here, with me. I needed her so bad. Her head leaned down to rest on her hands that were folded around my own and I smiled moving my fingers so I could gently stroke her fore head as she sobbed against our hands.
Glancing around the room I didn't notice my dad any where and I frowned slightly, feeling a pang of hurt. Where was he? I looked back over to my mom and sighed. "Mom... mom look at me." I said. She wasn't looking at me. I knew she was trying to hide the fact that she was crying, because when she cried I cried. "Come on please mommy." I begged in a weak voice a lone tear rolling down my cheek. Her head snapped up and her eyes stared into mine, her hand reaching forward as she gently wiped the tear away.
"Don't ever scare me like that again. I thought I lost you. I was so worried you weren't going to wake up.... oh god honey. Your father. He was heart broken. Chad, he balle-" I cut her off and sighed.
"Chad and I broke up mom. The day of the accident.... H- he cheated on me, the whole two years we dated." I heard her intake of breath but I didn't dare look at her out of embarrassment. "He only wanted sex from me, and then he planned on dumping me."
"Oh honey... No, I- I knew there was something off! God! Why didn't I see it. When your father finds out about this! I swear that kid is going to regret breaking your heart. Honey I promise you that. I'm going to help your father, that kid is going to get what he deserves." She started rambling. Standing up and pacing out of anger as she forced her fingers through her hair. "When he gets here, i'm going to have a surprise for him...."
"Mom." I said hoping to distract her from her rambling. She did that when she was angry. Ramble. It was a weird habit of hers. The women just continued on like she hadn't even heard me.
"What would be a good way to hide a body? O-or make it look like an accident?" my eyes widened in her direction. She sounded like a teenager! Or a murderer. Which ever you prefer.
"Mom!" her head snapped around to look at me and she gave me an apologetic smile, before sitting back down on the chair next to the bed I was in. "Where's dad?" I asked looking at her.
"He went out to get something to eat, because when we got here you were still asleep. A really nice lady said you might be asleep a little while as you looked exhausted when she was last in here. So your father went to get food. For all of us, because we all know how gross hospital food is." that women, I swear. She rambled more than a fangirl obsessing over her favorite TV series.
"Mom, you ramble to much." a giggled escaped my chapped lips as she looked down at me with a soft sigh and gentle smile.
"I'm sorry honey. I ju-" my mom was caught off by my dad walking into the room singing quitely as he wiggled his way into the room. Furrowing my brows we silently watched him, he seemed oblivious to our judging stares as he danced over to a table setting three drinks down and a bag from McDonald's. Honestly I wasn't a huge fan of the place but I had to admit they had good shakes.
