Chapter 10: Snow day

The kids were all gathered around the living room listening to the news that Monday morning. Laurel and Kara had the twins on their laps while Barry had Jenna. They listened in anticipation for the news anchor to say the name of their schools.

The following schools will be closed Today and Tomorrow, due to heavy snow. The news anchor began reading the names of schools. .... Central city high and Carmichael elementary. The kids cheered as soon as they heard their school's name. Snow day! Snow day! Snow day! The twins chanted as the others cheered. The kids got dressed in their winter clothing before going outside.

Tommy knew a great sledding place near the park, so he had taken his siblings there. Tommy, Oliver, Diggle and Barry went sledding, while the girls stayed at the park with the twins and Jenna. They had made snow angels and built a snowman. Hey, you guys wanna go sledding with us? Oliver called out. Nah, I think we'll watch. Sara replied. I wanna go sledding. JJ said. Yeah, can we go? Zoe asked. Okay, just be carefull. Sara responded. Don't worry, they'll be fine. Oliver said as the twins approached him.

They ended up having a blast. All they did was slide down a hill over and over again. Allright, you ready? Barry grinned as he and Zoe sat together on the sled at the top of the hill. Yeah. Zoe beamed. See you guys at the bottom. Diggle and JJ were on another sled as it raced down the hill. You guys having fun yet? Oliver asked the twins once they reached the bottom. Yeah, this is awesome. JJ replied. Can we go again? Zoe asked. Of course, come on. Barry took her hand has they made their way back to the top.

After sledding down the hill countless times, they decided to make a snow fort. The girls had made their own as well. When they were finished, they had a boys versus girls snowball fight. Oliver had snuck up on Laurel, and threw a snowball at her. Zoe was chasing Tommy while trying to hit him with one. The girls were chasing each other, before ganging up on Tommy and trying to hit him with a snowball instead. Iris was running from Barry who was chasing her.

After a day of fun, they decided to walk back to the house. As soon as they arrived, they all snuggled on the couch together and drank some hot cocoa.
