Chapter 2: The first day of school

Nora woke up Monday morning to the sound of the alarm clock beeping. Morning snowbell, she said petting the white cat which was sitting on the bed before disabeling the alarm and getting out of bed. Kids, wake up. Its time to get ready for school! She called out before going into her master bathroom.

Oliver laid in bed after disabling his alarm clock. Max laid in the middle of the room. He got up and trotted towards Oliver's bed. He then started to lick him on his face. I'm up, he said sleepily. Max continued licking him. Alright Max, I'm up. He said as he giggled. Max trotted over to Tommy's bed and did the same thing. Meanwhile in JJ and Zoe's room, Kane was waking up Zoe by licking her face. She rubbed her eyes then looked up at the bed above her where her twin brother slept. Come on JJ, we have to get up. She said tiredly.

Ha! I got here first. Guess this means I get to shower first. Tommy said as the kids rushed to the bathroom. Oh come on, bro. Oliver said. Sorry, you snooze you loose. Tommy joked before closing the door. The girls spotted the 2nd bathroom and saw that it was empty. They looked at each other before beelining for the door. Iris managed to get there first. After getting ready, everyone was having breakfast in the kitchen. Alright, we should get going. Nora said clearing the table and putting the dishes in the sink.
After saying their goodbyes to Henry, Nora and the kids left in their weststar maxus van.

After dropping off the older kids at Central city High school, Nora stopped the car at the elementary school. JJ opened his bookbag to reveal Kane sitting in his bag. JJ, you're taking Kane to school? Zoe asked. Shh. And yes. JJ said. What are you two doing back there? Nora asked looking in the rear view mirror. Nothing. The twins said at the same time. JJ, what's in the bag? Nora asked. Nothing mommy. JJ said in a cute voice. Let me see the bag. Nora demanded as she turned in her seat to face the two kids. JJ gave the bag to his mom. Nora opened the bag to find Kane inside. You are not taking Kane to school. Nora said taking the small puppy out of the bag. The twins said goodbye before jumping out of the car. Alright Kane, looks like you're running errands with me and Jenna. Nora looked at the pup on her lap, before looking at Jenna who was sitting in her car seat through the rear view mirror.

Tommy, Oliver, Diggle, Alex, Barry, Sara, Iris, Laurel and Kara all looked at each other as they stood at the bottom of the stairs which led to the front entrance of the school. I'm worried. Kara said. Don't be, we'll be fine. Oliver assured them. Good luck guys. Laurel wished them luck. Everyone meet up here afterwards, okay? Oliver said before dispersing and going their separate ways.

Meanwhile, Nora pulled up at the bank. She put Kane in her bag before getting out of the car to get Jenna. When she was finished at the bank, she had gone to the grocery store. Okay Jenna, you get to sit here. She had put Jenna in the shopping cart seat. And you get to ride in here, Kane. Just don't poop. Nora placed the puppy inside the shopping cart. After getting 6 boxes of cereal, 7 boxes of toilet paper, some pet food, cat litter and some other stuff, Nora paid at the pay til. She put the groceries in the car and parked the cart on the side.
Good boy, you did'nt make a mess in the cart. Nora said sweetly, as she picked up Kane from the cart.

She drove home to drop off the groceries before leaving again around 1:30, to pick up JJ and Zoe from school. From there, they went straight to Central city high to wait for the older kids. I want everyone to start with their homework. You know the rules, no TV and video games before homework. Nora directed later while entering the house. The kids all sat around the dining room table working on their homework for the remainder of the afternoon.

Done. Can Iris and I go practice our cheer routine for tryouts tomorrow? Sara asked when they were finished with their homework a few minutes later. You guys are done already? Henry asked. Yeah, we did'nt get much homework. Its only the first day of school, dad. Laurel replied. Allright. Nora responded. Mom, can we also go and practice for basketball tryouts? Tommy asked. And JJ and I need to get Kane ready for show and tell tomorrow. Zoe said. Boys, you can go. Twins, stay. Nora came into the dining room.

What did I say about taking Kane to school? Nora asked. But its for show and tell. JJ said. Did your teacher say you could bring pets to school? Nora asked. No, she said pets are'nt allowed at school. Zoe replied. We just don't know what else to bring. JJ sighed. Hey, I have an idea. Why don't you talk about your family for show and tell? Nora suggested. Are you all going to come to school with us tomorrow? JJ asked. No, I mean you can take a photograph of us and show your class. Nora chuckled as she showed them a framed photo. The twins looked at each other and smiled. Thanks mommy. They wrapped their arms around her. Can we go and watch cartoons now? JJ asked. Of course you can, my little rugrats. Nora smiled as the twins rushed off to the living room.
