Chapter 14 | Charlotte's revenge

As soon as the bell rang for the end of the day I ran out of school.

I didn't see Henry anywhere today despite looking for him everywhere around the school campus, neither did I see Charlotte. I tried texting Henry but no response.

I headed straight for Junk N' Stuff. My heart was racing, I had to prove what ever Charlotte said to Ray and Henry was false.

I stormed into Junk N' Stuff, no one was in the store, they must be in the man cave.

I entered the elevator and pressed the button as quick as I could. I pressed it repeatedly until the elevator door closed.

I didn't have any emotions at that point, I didn't even scream when the elevator started moving, I just stood there.

The door opened into the mancave.

I walked into the mancave with no hesitation, this was it. I dropped my backpack on the floor.

"Look whatever Charlotte said I did not do anything, everything she said was-"

Ray was sitting on the chair where the screens were, he turned around slowly.

"You."

He said in an intimidating voice, he looked angry, his eyes were widened.

"Be quiet. Now." He screamed.

"So first, you beat Charlotte up in a random bush while you JUST got the job, second, you threaten her to ruin her life as soon as you gain Henry's.. what was it?"

"My trust." Henry said, standing behind me, I didn't even know he was there. Beside him stood Charlotte, her arms were folded.

"And last, you STEAL a weapon from the backroom? The freeze ray is GONE, it went missing Sunday morning, and we think you have it."

"I DON'T have it, I swear! And I-"

Ray didn't let me speak.

"Kid, open her bag."

"Got it." Henry said in a stern voice.

He unzipped my bag and turned it upside down, everything fell out, including the Freeze Ray.

"Well well well, look what we have here." He picked it up, holding it up so Ray could see, while giving me a death stare.

"Look- I don't know how that go-"

"I don't want to hear it. I thought you were the one, Alana. I thought you were, but you're a THIEF, and a LIAR. And you used Henry to steal.

You're fired".

"No, you can't do this!" I screamed.

Two men came into the mancave, one was the man who was dressed up as the lady for my first training, I didn't know the other man.

They held me back, I tried to fight back but they were stronger than me.

Henry picked up my gumball tube, which was rolling on the floor from when he dumped all my books on the floor. He threw it to Ray.

I was screaming.

"Get her out of here, she's such a racket."

The two men dragged me away, holding me back still, I was helpless, anything I tried to say was ignored. I saw Charlotte had that same smirk on her face. Henry looked as if he was going to cry.

I got thrown onto the pavement outside Junk N' Stuff, like I was.. well, Junk.

The men locked the door so I couldn't get back in, and turned the 'open' sign to closed.

I was banging on the door, screaming and crying.

Everything had turned to mush. All because of rumors.
