Chapter 20 | My time to shine

I was Girl Danger again, I felt like i'd finally had something that i've been missing for years, but in this version 1 and half weeks.

I grabbed my remote and turned on the TV to try and get a glimpse of this 'Van Dell's' base is. I knew instantly, it was near my local gas station.

I looked in the mirror to see myself, I wasn't scared or frightened, I knew this is what I had to do.

Then I heard rocks bang at my window. I panicked.

I ran to the window.
A funny looking man stood there.

"Oh god, he can't see me like this, I don't even know who he is."

I took off my eye mask and quickly put on a sweatshirt from my laundry basket.

I opened my window.

"Yes?" I shouted.

"Hey! Is me, er Schwoz."

That name seemed so similar, but I didn't quite know where I heard it from.

"I'm back from my vacay!" He said in a weird foreign voice.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

"I'm schwoz, I work for Ray? I heard he hired a" He looked around to make sure no one was watching him.
"A sidekick" He whispered.

I knew who he was now, the inventor who invented everything that was in the man cave, but I didn't know he would look like that, I thought he would've looked different.

"Yes, but I got fired." I responded. "But I-"

"They need you, Alana!" Schwoz interrupted. "I tried tracking them with my special tracking device but it says no signal, they need you NOW!"

He threw my a gumball tube.

"Yes, that was what I was going to do until you came, Sir!"

I took off my sweatshirt.

"I'm in my suit right now, I took off my eye mask when you came."

"Oh uhh, sorry!" Schwoz said.

I put on my eyemask and climbed out my window.

"I'm ready." I said to Schwoz.

"We need to take the mancopter, the traffic is crazy to get out of Swellview and we won't make it in time."

"Got it. I replied."

We headed for the man copter. I sat in the passenger seat, in the same seat where I was talking to henry when we had our first kiss, I was trying not to cry. I needed to be strong.

We took off and headed for the secret base.

There's weapons in the back that you'll need, just in case.

"Okay, thanks Schwoz."

"Anyways how did you get fired?" Schwoz questioned.

"Oh, let's just say there was a misunderstanding l, i'll explain it to you later, well if I see you later."

"Oh." Schwoz replied in a concerned voice. "Well i'll be looking forward to knowing why, you seemed like the perfect fit to be honest."

"Yeah, I know." I said, trying not to cry again.

A few minutes passed by, we didn't say anything.

"Well, here we are!" Schwoz shouted above the noise of the man copter.

"Thank you, Schwoz." I clipped a rope to my waist and tied it to a bar on the helicopter whilst holding a bag of weapons.

"Best of luck, Alana, be careful!"

"Will do!" I shouted.

I let go, I felt like i was flying whilst going towards the ground. I unclipped myself from the rope and picked up my weapons.

I instantly knew where I was.

I was at the Danger Zone.
