Chapter 6 | Training

As per usual, school was boring. I learnt boring things that would be no use to me when I'm older.

"Thank god schools over now it's the weekend", I thought to myself, whilst walking in the hall.

I was exciting school ready to go to work until I saw Henry, he was waiting for me.

"Hey Henry!" I said whilst walking to him.

"Hey Al! How was school?"

"Ah just the usual, boring as ever, what about you?."

"Ohh haha". Henry said awkwardly, I knew he was nervous to speak to me.

"Yeah it was fine just, boring, as per usual..! anyways let's go to Junk N" Stuff, we're running late already and Ray will probably get mad at us." Henry said.

"Yeah probably, we're meant to be there by half past, let's go." I answered.

We both left school. It's about a 10 minute walk to Junk N' stuff on foot. The walk there was super awkward, we made small talk the whole way there, I was so relieved when I saw the rotting store sign.

We walked into the store and went down the elevator, I was dreading this part, the elevator, or shall I say the roller coaster?

I screamed again, Henry stood still like last time. The elevator made a huge thud which meant we entered the Man Cave.

I placed my schoolbag on the floor.

I looked around.

"I forgot how cool this place looked, even though I've only been here yesterday, don't you think Henry?"

I turned around. He was gone. Into thin air.

"Henry?" I shouted, my voice echoed, but no response.

I looked everywhere, I even looked in the elevator which was really stupid of me but I wasn't thinking straight at the time.

I was going to ring the emergency button, which is near the elevator door. Until I saw this elderly lady come out the backroom. I'd never seen her before, well, I didn't see her yesterday.

"Ey is this the ladies room?" She said in a weird deep-toned British accent, she looked so scary.

As soon as she finished her sentence Ray came out the secret door, which is next to the screens and the Auto-snack.

"Alana I told you not to tell strangers or show them the Man Cave!" Ray barked.

"But I didn't! She was already here! I don't know who she is!"

Ray ignored me. "Ma'am this is not the ladies room, I need to escort you off the premises."

"Okay I'll just phone me nephew so he can come and pick me up." The weirdish lady added.

"Okay that's fine and now I'll turn my back as you do so." Ray said sarcastically.

I stood there, I didn't know what to do. All of this was just odd. I had a gut feeling that something was wrong.
