Your cheeks burned under Ron's touch, his thumb skimming over your hot skin. Slowly, your palm snaked up his arm, resting atop of his hand. You shook your head, the hairs standing up on the back of your neck. You felt afraid.

Afraid. Of your best friend.

"You're scaring me, Ron" you said quietly, the words catching in the back of your throat. His expression immediately softened, his other hand clasping the opposite cheek. His hands were so large that he could nearly interlock his fingers at the back of your head, palms shrouding your features.

"No.. no i'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you" he spoke so quickly the words rolled into one. You could see the panic in his eyes, blue-green irises glinting under the shining sun. His ears pricked a blush pink at the tips, a signature giveaway that he was embarrassed.

"I'm scared of losing you" he mumbled, taking his bottom lip in his mouth. Ron had always been protective of you, it was in his nature, even if sometimes he didn't go about it the right way.

At times he was a scaredy cat- of course, everyone is once in a while. Immature, sure. However Ron really was brave and true, his heart was in the right place. His loyalty never failed to shine in everything he did.

You picked up your opposite hand that was clutching the bathroom counter to brush a small teardrop from under his eye. Fred and Ron were all too similar, in that they acted on impulse and emotion, and jealousy brought out the worst in them.

He leaned his head into your hand, another tear escaping to run down his nose. He took a deep breath in and you felt him relax, his posture slouching a little.

A calm few moments of silence blanketed over the bathroom. Now that it was quiet you could hear the faint merry chatter downstairs, accompanied by small droplets of water from the tap behind you.

Downstairs, Juliet took her place next to Fred on the couch. "Do you have another bathroom I could use?" she asked politely. George wiggled his eyebrows at her, "Seems like somebody has forgotten where they are''. Fred eyed her quizitively through a raised brow, giggling at his brother's comment, "No. What's wrong with the one upstairs?" he chuckled.

"Sounds like Y/N and Ron are having a domestic, I didn't know they were together" she said absentmindedly, shrugging her shoulders as she picked up her glass to take another gulp of champagne.

George snorted through his nose, "Are you daft? Y/N and Ron aren't together". Juliet scowled at him and shrugged again, a menacing smile etching on her lips that were still pressed against the glass.

She shrugged again, "They were talking about a kiss". Fred sat up straight, his jaw instantly locked. "What do you mean?" he asked hurriedly.

Juliet leaned back on the couch, amused by how suddenly Fred's demeanour changed. She stuck out her bottom lip and took another sip of champagne, "She hasn't told you, has she?".

Juliet and the twins were very alike in the way that they could never take things seriously. The small difference was that Fred and George were able to recognise when absence of seriousness morphed into spite, a skill that Juliet seemed to lack.

Fred and George exchanged astounded gazes, scrambling from the couch and upstairs to the bathroom without another word. They steadied their pace as they reached the landing, quietly yet chaotically shoving each other out of the way as they made their way to the bathroom door. Together, they leaned in close to listen.

"Ron" you said once he had calmed completely. Your friend opened his eyes slightly to look in yours, each sclera was now red and irritated. "I know you're only looking out for me, but I don't appreciate you being so possessive" you explained.
