"Ah, Mr Robards," Arthur greeted the tall man as he answered the door. "What brings you here at this time of night?".
"Good evening, Mr Weasley. I apologise for interrupting your evening. I'm afraid it's rather important", Gawain said apologetically, his brows almost shielding his eyes they were scrunched so tight.
Arthur noticed that there was another man standing just behind Gawain, one he recognised from the Ministry, however he could not for the life of him remember his name.
"And you are?" Arthur asked the stranger, partially unsettled by his presence. The Ministry was bursting with many different characters, it was almost impossible to remember everyone.
The man cleared his throat, "Allard, Mr Weasley. Alfred Allard" he said, extending a large pale hand to offer a handshake.
"Oh yes! Juliet's father I presume? She mentioned her father worked for the Ministry", Arthur said as he returned the offer, giving Mr Allard a firm welcoming shake of the hand despite his ice cold touch.
Alfred Allard was a frightfully tall figure, with hair as dark as a black hole in space, and unnaturally emerald green eyes. He was very wide, with big broad shoulders, however so thin he practically disappeared when he turned to the side.
"Magical Law Enforcement, sir. Investigation department", he said thickly, nearly offended that Arthur didn't already know who he was. His eyes cut through Mr Weasley like a freshly sharpened knife through paper, burning him as if he was an ant under a magnifying glass.
Arthur coughed an embarrassed laugh whilst pressing the palm of his hand to his forehead, "Of course, of course. My apologies" he said with a smile, "Magical Law Enforcement is such a big department, I knew I recognised you from passing in the corridors" he chuckled.
Except Alfred wasn't so light hearted, turning his nose up at Arthur and looking down on him more sternly than before. "I trust my daughter has had a pleasant evening with you and your family?".
Arthur gulped, nodding his head with the same nervous smile written across his face. Truth is that Alfred Allard and his family were known to rub shoulders with the likes of the Malfoy's, who did not see eye to eye with the Weasley's. Therefore Arthur always tried his best to not become too familiar.
Gawain cleared his throat, breaking out a similar awkward laugh, "Yes, yes. Anyway, could we come in? For a chat?" he asked, wringing his hands together, a wad of rolled up parchment secured under his arm.
Before Arthur could answer, Molly was barging past him to see who it was, screeching about "Who could possibly be here at this time of night!?".
"Good evening, Mrs Weasley" Gawain smiled apologetically, wincing at the shrill pitch of her voice and very sudden assertive presence.
"Ah, Mr Robards," Molly quickly collected herself, straightening her dress and flicking a flyaway strand of hair from her face. "A chat did I hear? Whatever for?", she asked, folding her arms.
Mr Robards looked visibly uncomfortable, glancing behind him to Alfred. "I assume your children informed you about a mysterious potion they have come across?".
That was all he had to say for Molly to be dragging him into the house by the wrist, scolding him with "Well it's about time!". You had all been waiting weeks to hear what the Ministry had to say about it.
Mr Allard had to duck under the door frame to step into the hallway, mindful of how close the top of his head came to the ceilings.
Harry, Hermione and Ginny sprang from the sofa once Mr Robards and Mr Allard stepped into the living room, shrouding the room with their commanding presence.
