"Weredogs were able to transform into dogs such as mastiffs or St. Bernards as opposed to actual wolves. Despite this, the similarities between dogs and wolves were similar enough that they could be mistaken for normal werewolves.
Weredogs were originally humanoids suffering from the lycanthropic curse, but whose strong, good-aligned personalities were able to fight back against the infection. The result was an altered form of lycanthropy that allowed the victim's personality to remain.
Most often, weredogs were good-willed. They chose werewolves as their enemies, and swore to defeat them, despite being less numerous and powerful."

PHYSICAL;
Unlike Werewolves, Weredogs' partial-shift isn't as frightening - therefore they do not grow hair on the side of their face, nor do their face shape change at all. They do, however, gain a more delicate looking shift, consisting of small fangs and small claws, as well as glowing eyes (red, yellow or blue).
Weredogs, compared to Werewolves, have abilities focused mainly towards fully shapeshifting into dogs themselves, rather than abilities more suited to more 'beast-like' creatures.
If you know Harry Potter, think of Weredogs as Sirius and a Werewolf as Lupin
ABOUT;
Weredogs have always been perceived as naive and overly-trusting due to their past with hunters -They worked alongside the hunters, often taking form of their pets. Hunters had no problem with them, due to their kind, protective and good-willed nature towards them (they also had a common enemy - werewolves).
Even though they're a rarer creature to find nowadays, their nature still tends to clash against Werewolves, and there have still been many whose families are tied to modern hunter families - to continue the tradition of working together.
All Weredogs possess abilities such as
Glowing Eyes
Enhanced Physical;
Enhanced strength, speed, flexibility & stamina
Enhanced Senses;
Night vision, enhanced hearing, enhanced sight, enhanced smell, enhanced hearing, enhanced hunting.
Enhanced Healing;
They're able to heal at an accelerated rate. They're also able to heal others - something Werewolves can similarly do. However, the difference being that only Alpha Werewolves can heal others whereas any type of Weredog has this ability.
Claws & Fangs;
Smaller than a Werewolves, and less effective when they're in Partial Shift. However, in their dog forms, they're very powerful. Their Fangs also give them an enhanced bite, capable of turning others (however only if they're an alpha)
Enhanced Trust & Taming;
Others find it easy to trust Weredogs in an almost supernatural and inhuman way. This gives them a natural ability to tame animals.
Disease Detection;
They have an uncanny ability to detect diseases or negative effects others are being effected by. This could further be seen through detecting disorders, such as anxiety or depression.
Shapeshifting;
All Weredogs can fully shift into the breed of dog they are. When in their dog form, they are much more powerful, with their abilities' effects becoming increased - unlike when in their partial form.
Fast Leaners;
Weredogs have a supernatural ability to easily retain information, being able to learn things within seconds.
As well as these abilities, depending on the species of weredog, they can have different powers. e.g were-greyhounds may be faster than other lycanthropes or were-borzoi may have a further enhanced leap.
WEAKNESSES;
Decapitation
Mountain Ash
Fire
Electricity
Wolfsbane
Wolf Lichen
Canine Distemper Virus
Sensory Overload
NOTES;
Unlike Werewolves, Weredogs are not effected by the full moon in any way, shape or form. They are fully in control of themselves, and therefore any rash or violent behaviour cannot be blamed on their 'monstrous side' and is completely their original personality.
Whilst Weredogs aren't as strong as Werewolves, they are more in control and their ability to learn within seconds gives them an upper-hand in predicting a Werewolves moves and tactics.
