november 2011
now 7 years old, Kito is entering the second grade. she adapted quickly to life in america. luckily because of her young age, picking up english was easy. at home they maintained speaking japanese.

just says after her initial arrival, she had already faded into the background of her classroom. becoming another outcast. the kids already had prior time to get to know eachother and make 'cliques'. as before, she didn't fit in with anyone. only being in second grade, it was difficult. all she wanted to do was socialize but was rejected by most kids. some would engage with her out of pity.

another day, and the class is outside at recess. little Kito is sitting at a picnic bench on the field. red crayon is hand as she colors in a page of her favorite hero coloring book. 'all might is so cool!' she thought to herself while coloring in the smaller details.

footsteps of another small child crunched under the fallen leaves. Kito looks up from her book, only to be met with not one, but two young boys. she didn't recognize them as a member of her class, but as older boys from the third grade who frequently made fun of her.

she could recall that the first boy to approach her, had a quirk called water bending. he could manipulate water and was most powerful in watery environments or rain. neither of which were around. the other boy had some type of visable mutation quirk.

"yeah?" her small voice hummed.

"what even is your quirk anyway?" the bigger boy asked, with a harsh tone, causing her to look up at him. she met her gaze with his before she answered.

"i can control things." she shrugged and attempted to resume coloring. in response the mutated boy ripped the crayon out of her hand.

"hey!" she squealed angrily, watching him snap the red wax between his fingers. she wished that he'd leave her alone. she imagined what it could be like if she stood up for herself. she'd twist his arm back until he cried out.

the sound of a scream broke her thoughts. what happened?

the third grade boy that was infront of her has now fallen in the ground screaming in pain. just from a fall? crybaby.

then she noticed the bend in his arm. a bend in his arm that, should not be there. her eyes widened as she tries to put the pieces together.

teachers rushed over to check on why a child was screaming. much to everyone's surprise, there was the third grader with a broken arm. and seemingly no explanation for it, except for Kito's confused expression.

"what happened!?" one said worried but trying to remain calm at the child.

"I-I, don't k-" she stumbled over her words. "I- dont know" she said quietly, still confused about the event.

one teacher took the child to the nurses office while one stayed with Kito.

"I thought it and then it happened.." the shocked girl said. "I-I don't know how." her eyes now glossy as reality set in.

the adult, not knowing how to respond, sent the child a reassuring smile.

"how about we send you home for the day." she asked. wording it so it sounded like she was sending her home out of comfort rather then because she just broke a kids arm. this response earned a small nod from the child.

the pair made their way to the front office where her mother was called.

soon she arrived and picked up her daughter. she didn't seem mad, but she wasn't happy either. she knew that eventually she would try to use her quirk on a person. she was just hoping it wouldn't be as intense as breaking someone's arm.

the car ride was mostly quiet, a few small sniffles escaped from the smaller girl.

"it's okay honey." her mom finally spoke up. still unsure of what she should do.

"good guys don't hurt people" she replied through tears. those words hurt her mothers heart.

"baby, i'm sure the good guys have had accidents and made mistakes" she stated. however, this didn't make her feel better.

"even all might?" she questioned while looking out of the window, watching the trees pass.

"i'm sure." she replied while smiling to herself.

the rest of the drive it remained quiet asides the occasional car passing by.
