Kito's POV
it was finally the day where i would get on a plane, by myself, and move to Japan. the day where it would be the last time in months i get to see my family. in my mind, it's all worth it to attend this school. where only the best of the best attend.

my room felt bigger, a good amount of my belongings were in a black suitcase, sitting by the front door. my essential items were placed in my backpack, that i'm taking as a carry on.

with only an hour left until we would leave for the airport, i decided to watch sports festival footage from the previous year. it's surreal to think that in only a few months, that will be me. there's a shocking amount of amazing people with amazing quirks that i'll get to meet. hopefully they all think my quirk is useful.

i observed the fighting styles and techniques that people were using. i know what works best for me and my quirk, i just need to figure out how to improve and maybe expand my abilities. if i push myself hard, i know i can become super strong. i smiled at my thoughts before looking at the time.

15 minutes left until i leave behind my childhood. i shut my laptop before placing it gently into my carry on, making sure i had the charger too. i grabbed my few last minute essentials, like my phone charger, my sketchbook with some pencils, an extra change of clothes, and my wallet. i put those in my carry on, double-checking i have everything i need.

taking a last look at my room, for the memories and for a last check of items. of course if i needed something that badly, my parents could mail it to me. although that would take a while. i made my way downstairs, putting my backpack on top of my suitcase while i grabbed something to eat.

i made some toast with butter, just something simple and fast. i dont want to be super hungry at the airport, everything is too overpriced.

i reached into my pocket, looking for my headphones. shit. quickly running back up to my room, and grabbing my headphones that i left on my nightstand. i knew i'd forget something.

i checked the time, and it was already time to go. once again, making my way down the stairs, this time stopping at the door. i put my backpack on and hooked up my headphones to my phone.

"mom, it's time to go!" i called out, popping out the handle on my suitcase. i opened the front door and wheeled my stuff out to the car. instead of the trunk, i put it in the back seat. considering, it would only be me and my mother going. my dad had work, it was sad that i didn't get to see him before i go, but we said our goodbyes last night.

i hopped into the passenger seat while my mother got into the drivers side. i buckled up, and went through my spotify, looking for the perfect song.

i pressed on, 'somebody told me' by motionless in white. locking my phone after the music started playing. i mostly watched out the window, uninterested in talking at the moment.

the drive to the airport was about 40 minutes with light traffic. i didn't mind though, my favorite thing was driving through the city, and we were doing just that.

my playlist was almost done, i skipped through half of the songs, but either we were pulling into the entrance near my terminal. i knew my mother was about to spill her heart out so i paused my music as the car came to a stop.

the older woman let out a small sigh before speaking. "you know how to check your bags and get to your gate right?" she questioned.

"yes mom. i've been through the airport multiple times." i replied.

"i can't believe you're leaving me. you're not even 18." she said lowly.

"i'll visit when i can, and you and dad can always come see me." i stated.

"text me when you land. or if you have any troubles." she said while place her hand softly on my shoulder.

"i will mom, don't worry." i say, hoping she'll remove her hand, which luckily she does. "i'm gonna go now." i said gently.

i opened the door, getting out. i made sure i had my bag, and hadn't dropped anything in the front seat. then, opening the back door and taking out my suitcase

i waved goodbye to my mom as i walked towards the automatic glass doors. they opened as a approached. i walked into the building, instantly feeling the cold, air conditioning against my skin. i made my way over to the check in with my luggage.

after checking my bag i needed to go through security. weirdly this was one of my favorite parts. truth is, i loved everything about flying and airports. i loved the feeling of just traveling.

once it was my turn, i placed my carry on into a plastic container, along with my shoes. i walked thought the metal detector and grabbed my stuff on the other side. taking a moment to put my shoes back on, before looking for my gate.

i followed the signs on the walls until i made it to my gate. only about 45 minutes until my plane boards.
