september 2018 Kito's POV it had been about a week since the U.A practical exams. after returning back to America, i lost all hope of being accepted. how could they accept someone that couldn't even take down one robot.
i haven't spoke to my parents about what the exam was like. i didn't want to express that i had failed and we attended for no reason. i haven't trained since i left Japan. what would be the point, if not to be accepted into U.A?
after a few days of sorrow, a letter arrived in the mail for me. it was addressed from the school in Japan. great, the even send letters of rejection?
my mom handed me the neatly sealed envelope. which i took, examining both sides before looking up at my mother.
"well open it!" she smiled. not knowing i had completely bombed the exam.
hesitantly i ripped the top of the envelope, revealing a letter. i opened it, but was quickly taken back by a hologram popping out.
ALL MIGHT?
"Greetings Young Okada." the hologram of Japan's #1 hero spoke. "We are happy to inform you that you have been accepted into U.A high school!" my jaw dropped. that has to be a mistake. "You scored very well on the written test. the practical you scored zero points." he paused.. "but, you received 60 rescue points for helping save a fellow applicant. Welcome to U.A high! we look forward to working with you. Go beyond, Plus Ultra!" were the last words he spoke before disappearing. this school has some advanced technology.
my mothers face looked as dumbfounded as mine. my shock turned to confusion, why would they let me in if all i did was save one person? they barley got to see the full usage of my quirk. what if i end up sucking.
"good job, honey!" she smiled and gave me a gently side hug. i awkwardly stayed still until she let go of me. "i have already made arrangements with the school!" she exclaimed rather proudly. how did she do that so quick? maybe she already knew i got accepted?
"okay, so what are they?" i asked.
"you're going to stay with a third year. she's one of the schools top three students. basically her and her family will act as a host family, for you." she explained.
"what's her name?" i inquired.
"Nejire, Hado." she replied. i took a mental note of that name. i'm gonna look her up later.
"have we planned when i'm going back yet?" i asked my mom, wondering how much time i had until i was off to Japan, alone.
"about a week and a half." she said, her voice going back to monotone.
once again, not a lot of time. i left the letter on the counter before making my way up to my bedroom. my bed is messy because i never understood why you should make your bed everyday when you're just gonna ruin it when you sleep. i covered my legs with a blanket, before grabbing my laptop. i did say i was going to look her up.
opening straight to the google search bar, i typed in the name, "Nejire Hado." a few things popped up, including video of her from the U.A sports festival as a first year. she is going into her third year in the hero course. she's one of the top three students in the school, i guess they're called "the big three." she looked like she'd be a sweet girl, so hopefully this is easy.
i closed out of the tab, opening a new one and clicking on my netflix bookmark. i scrolled to the "continue watching" label and clicked on the show i was watching.
later i would do more research on the school, and begin packing. my night would end about midnight when i fell asleep.
