Dedede's little crush

The heroes had returned to their home after the immortals had explained themselves. Now, they served at Castle Dedede and were acknowledged every now and then.

"More questions? Who writes these?" Maddie laughed, looking at the piece of paper that was in her hands. "I do swear quite frequently but who gives a fuck?"
"Maddie don't swear, especially in front of Kirby!!" Becca called through, obviously irritated. "You swear too much."
"Shut the fuck up and fuck off!" She shouted through, cursing at Becca.

Galacta Knight looked down at the paper at the question he had been asked,"Well, they told me to and that's why not all of them were in the tent at the time."

"I guess that's all the questions now. Other than that, it says I'm cool. Hehe, thanks whoever wrote this, you're cool too. Hey, wanna go chill in the cinema you guys?" Becca offered.

Guided by Becca, the three of them went into the private theatre in Castle Dedede.

With Meta Knight, (Y/n), Kirby, King Dedede and Bandana Waddle Dee.

Dedede eyed his head Knight, curiosity flowing through his mind. He only had one question, why was he so damn cute?! However, as cute as the Knight was, Galacta Knight was a problem that stopped them from getting together. Admiring from the long distance that seemed between them, he longed to be more than just a King to the Knight, more than just a ruler; he wanted to be his lover, to feel his love.

Sitting down on the picnic blanket, (Y/n) huddled next to Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee. Picking up a sandwich, they inspected the filling and took a massive bite out of it. How great it tasted! Glancing over at Kirby, (Y/n) noticed that he also dug in. So had Bandana Waddle Dee, but not the others. Was there unresolved mention between the two, or were they just shy eating in front of others. Swallowing the mouthful of sandwich, (Y/n) urged them to dig in to the morsels they had brought along. "It's not like it's poisoned or anything, dig in!"

The Knight looked at the food, it did look great and they were his friends, so them seeing his appearance weren't anything too extraordinary. Sliding his mask aside, he gave a calm smile and helped himself to a plateful.

Looking away, Dedede felt his face heat up by a couple tens of degrees; how cute he was just made him helplessly bashful! Hardly able to help himself, he stole a glance at the unmasked swordsman and felt a coy smile curl onto his face, the way he felt was too strong of an emotion to describe.

The exposed Knight's vision turned to the blushing king who turned his head to avoid being caught. He wondered why King Dedede hadn't dug into the food yet, considering he stole all the food in Dreamland on multiple occasions. Getting Dedede's attention, he asked him why he hadn't tucked in to the food. "Oh..um..I'm not hungry, I had a large breakfast this morning. S-sorry to make you worry about me..!" The King apologised, still not showing his face.

His face was in his hands, obscuring his vision. Though he couldn't see it, he knew that he wore a distressed and worried expression on his adorable face.
The king not eating..? That is quite unlike him, he adores food more than most of his subjects. The warrior thought to himself.

I shouldn't feel like this, it's wrong. He's already in a relationship as it is and it would be wrong. Dedede sighed sadly as the words ran through his mind.

All three of the younger attendees shared an exchange of confused glances, wondering why the older members of their group were so distant...

"Hey, did something happen with them..?" Kirby whispered aside to (Y/n).
"The heck would I know? Maybe Meta Knight is mad at King Dedede because Dedede, él es estúpido." (Y/n) said, interchanging the language they used.
"Hey, that's not fair (Y/n)! We can't speak Spanish!" Bandana Waddle Dee whined, giving (Y/n) a look of a distress.
"Haha, fine. I just said Dedede is stupid. Well, él es un poco estúpido." (Y/n) shrugged.

The three watched the others in wonder, hoping they would sort out the awkward tension between them...but no. They sat in silence, the caped puffball ceasing to eat because of the worry that Dedede had made him feel.

It felt like eternities went by, just sat there hoping they would resolve what stood between them but no. Someone had to break the silence eventually, and they were so glad it was done. "Hey hey~" Maddie's voice cheered, as she wandered up to the group of them, with Becca and Galacta Knight by her side,"How is my favourite five?"

At once, Galacta Knight went to Meta Knight and snuggled besides him. In jealousy, Dedede could only give a hateful glare to Galacta Knight, to which he responded with a discomforted expression.

Flopping onto her stomach, Maddie laid besides (Y/n) and swung her legs behind her. "You kids been good? If so, I'll give you a little treat." She snickered, pulling out some marshmallow lollipops from her pocket.
All three of them graciously thanked Maddie as she patted (Y/n) on the head. "Yeah, you've been good kids, I can tell." She smiled, turning to Meta Knight. "So, anything happen today?"

The swordman informed her of the situation with Dedede, how he refused to eat and turned away whenever he addressed him. To Maddie, this was a curious case of the "L" word.
"What do you mean the 'L' word? Do you mean Leeching? Or latching? Or..llamas?!" Becca guessed.
Confusedly, Maddie shook her head,"Why would Dedede latch or leech off of Meta Knight? And..what do llamas have to do with this?? No..I meant love." Maddie said, shaking her head at all of Becca's incorrect answers.
"L..l..love?!" Becca shrieked.

Covering her sister's mouth, she scolded her,"Shut up! Dedede's gonna fuckin' find out and he'll kill us both!"
Squeaking timidly, Becca nodded her head and silenced herself as Maddie turned back to Meta Knight.
"I think he likes you. He's probably head over heels for you.." Maddie told him.
"I don't think Dedede would wear heels, or look good doing so." Becca chimed in, earning a nod of agreement from her sister.

The three younglings all looked horrified, Dedede was crushing on Meta Knight! It wasn't the crush itself, but the fact that who he was crushing on was already taken.

Maddie talked to Dedede, discussing his crush with him,"Would you settle for Dark Meta Knight?" She suggested.
"No, I want me the original Meta Knight, he's just..just..just-" he cut himself off, putting his head in his hands,"I just can't stop thinking about him, yes he is strong and powerful and skilled but he's also polite, respectful and so caring.."

Dedede's swooning made her want to gag, she wasn't fond of love. Now, she had practically put herself into a situation like sinking in quicksand and had to get herself out of it.
