"SWEETY! WAKE UP! IT'S TIME TO GET READY FOR SCHOOL! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE!"
I woke up confused in my old bed and to what sounds like my mom screaming at me to get up. I rubbed my eyes and slowly got out of bed.
I heard footsteps running up towards my room and saw my mom open the door.
"Are you feeling okay? You're usually up and ready by now," my mom said breathlessly.

I quickly woke up to the smell of pancakes and coffee. I heard footsteps and started to panic.
I shot up and out of the unfamiliar bed I was in and hurriedly searched for a place to hide. My head felt like it was splitting open but I ignored it and went to the middle of the room and turned in full circle. The only place that I could see was under the bed, so I went back to the bed and slid under it. It was a tight fit but it would work. I prayed that whoever was there wouldn't find me.
The footsteps got closer and my breathing got shallower. I was so scared I thought I was going to pee my pants.
When the footsteps stopped right outside the door I thought I would never breathe again.
The person knocked and slowly opened the door.
"Hello?" I heard a deep familiar voice call out. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you," he soothed.
"How do I know if you're telling the truth?" I called out from under the bed.
I heard him sigh and say. "You don't."
I took a deep breath and slid out from under the bed. Standing I looked the man up and down and realized it was the officer from yesterday.
To be honest, I was kind of relieved to see him. He reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it....
