Jesse got up and walked around the corner.
"Anthony, I want you to meet someone. She's staying with us for a while," Jesse called out while he walked towards the voice.
"She?-" I heard the voice say, then Jessy and a boy who looked around my age walked around the corner with Jesse next to him.
I just stared at him in shock and our eyes locked. He had green eyes and brown hair with a slim body and was VERY tall.
Jesse cleared his throat. "So... Maya this is my son Anthony."
"Hi," I said barely audible.
"Hey," Anthony said, a smile spreading across his face.
Jesse cleared his throat again. "I'll let you two get acquainted," Jesse said then walked out of the room.
It was quiet for a moment before Anthony walked towards me and sat down on the couch next to me.
Butterflies spread through my belly and blushed a dark red.
When he looked over at me he must've saw I was blushing because when I looked at him out of the corner of my eye he was looking at me smiling a small knowing smile.
"So Maya right?" He asked.
I nodded self consciously, looking away.
"I'm Anthony," he replied with a genuine smile.
"Nice to meet you," I whispered, smiling slightly looking down but it disappeared as fast as it appeared and I felt heat spread across my face and I knew I was blushing again.
I could feel his eyes on me and I glanced at him nervously. I saw he was looking at me with curiosity and I looked back down shy.
"So how did you meet my dad?" He asked.
I looked at him meeting his eyes for half a second then looked away shrugging.
I looked back at him out of the corner of my eye and saw he looked disappointed. I looked at the floor kind of disappointed in myself for not putting the effort in to answer his question.
"I ran when he said freeze," I muttered.
"Wow," he said surprised.
I just nodded.
He looked at me with admiration and I looked back down embarrassed.
Surprisingly, I felt Anthony pull me into his chest hugging me. I couldn't believe it but emotions got caught in my throat and I wrapped my arms around him crying silently. The tears slipping silently out of my eyes and soaking into his shirt.
"If you need to talk about anything, you can," he said in a quiet soothing voice.
More tears spilled out of my eyes and a sob got caught in my throat.
Anthony hugged me tighter and after a while of him just holding me I started to feel drowsy. Soon I was falling asleep in his arms and I felt safe for the first time in all my life.
