AUTHOR INTERVIEW: 

Who are your favorite authors?  

I may sound a little cliché.... I loved Twilight and the Host... yes I did - so Stephenie Meyer.  I also like Anne Rice and Skyla Madi.

 Has your experience as a police officer influenced your writing? How?

Funny story.  I did an interview with a well respected national radio station and all the interviewer kept asking me was - well why aren't you writing about cops and robbers?  Or crime or...or...or...  They never really understood that Policing is a job - it is not who I am.  Yes I am the cop that writes about fairies, elves and dwarfs and dammit I'm proud of it.  By the way - did I mention the story I am writing on Wattpad is a cop drama... I know cliché right!  I have drawn from a lot of experiences I've had over the last 20 years in policing - not mention I have an older sister and younger brother who keep me supplied in stories.  

You're a best selling author. What's your secret and/or advice for aspiring writers?  

Write because you love it - don't write with the idea you are going to be the JK Rawlings ect.  It is also a lot of work.  I am one of those people who steal time to write - every extra second in the day I get I write.

What was the inspiration for the story you wrote for the Block Party?

My sister - she asked me to write a fifty shades like book - going from magic in different worlds to magic in the bed are two totally different writing styles... Jen - I'm trying!

 What are your writing habits, or routine? (day vs. late night? on your phone? lots of caffeine?) 

Any sec, any chance, any time I get to sit and write something I do - Whether it be one page or ten - they are all important.  Because of my job and my life I have to take whatever time I am given to write - it can be 5a.m. or 1130 at night - Caffeine...yes - beer also:)

 How did you discover Wattpad? 

 Through Apryl Baker another author with Limitless publishing and boy am I ever glad I did!!!

 When I'm not writing I'm ____________.Thinking about what I can - or catching bad guys or playing hockey with my kids or spending some one on one time with my husband:.  

 What's you favorite thing about Wattpad?  

The honest - the fluttery feeling I get in my gut when I look at how many reads I've gotten the second I post a chapter - the freedom to make mistakes and not have someone completely rip apart your story - The support from all the writers and the readers.

What can we expect from you next? 

I am going to finish "A Thin Blue Line" and the next book bouncing around in my head is horror / drama (Yes Apryl - I am going to try and write something that scares the crap out of me!  Just to see if I can do it!)  I will also be finishing The Elemental Series - Book one Awakenings and book two Revelations have been released - Book 2.5 (no it is not 3 - why - well because it isn't -) is slotted for release mid February 2015 and I have two more books to finish the series.
