Chapter 27
Kayla's POV
I have been stuck here all day. No food, no water, no nothing. My arms are getting sore where the ropes are tied, my feet are numb and I'm in dire need for the bathroom.
Don't know how long I can hold my pee.
The sound of the door startles me. Someone is opening it. The knob turns and the door slowly opens and I come face to face with my dad.
He smiles, "My angel, you wouldn't believe it."
"Won't you ask me what happened."
I didn't speak.
"Well I'll tell you anyways." He says taking a seat a the foot of the bed.
"Lover boy number one is here, um what's his name, Adrian." He snaps his fingers. "Aren't you delighted? Now we wait for lover boy number 2.""What? What do you mean he's here?"
"Exactly what I said. He came to save you from my clutches but unfortunately for him and fortunately for me, I'll make an example of him."
"Don't you dare hurt him!!" I scream.
"Too late my Angel. Too late."
And he left."Come back here!!! Don't you hurt him!!! Please." I break down in sobs. "Dad! Dad! Please."
"Take care of her." Was his last order before his men moves in and injects me. I don't bother fighting cause I'm too tired. The drugs sets in and I'm out like a light.

I feel someone carrying me on their shoulder but don't know who because I'm drowsy. I stair and don't feel the handcuffs on my wrist. We are moving deeper into the building but my vision is blurry and I can't make out anything. We finally stop and I am placed on a chair. My head feels so heavy, it keeps falling. Cold liquid is suddenly sprayed on my face and I try using my hands to shield my face but it doesn't work. The liquid which I think is water somehow manages to bring me back to reality."Ah, I see you're back. Sleep well?" My dad's voices booms.
I just stare lazily at him, not uttering a word.
He walks closer, "This attitude of yours needs to be changed my Angel. I expect that when I ask you a question, you answer verbally. Am I understood?"
I still didn't speak. All too quickly, his hand connects with my cheeks and the sound echoes across the empty room.
"Am I understood?" He repeats firmly.
"Yes." I whisper.
"What?"
"Yes." I say a bit louder.
"Good girl. Now there's someone I'd like you to meet and I'm sure you'd be happy to see." He signals and I hear footsteps approach. I see a very familiar figure but couldn't make out who. She squats in front of me and I can finally see her face, with an evil grin.
"Miss me?" I can't believe my ears and eyes.
"I'll leave you two. Don't do anything I wouldn't approve of." My dad disappears.
"Be-beverly? How?"
"Let me explain. I am the one who has been spying on you for your dad even before we became 'friends'. I left the dress and jewelry, I pushed you from the ladder and left the note on your skirt and the other notes you saw, I was the one who told your dad that Adrian was in Silver Stakes, I was the one. I told him everything he needed to know," she stands, "about you and Mason–awww, you guys were so cute it was disgusting." She spits.
