Chapter 19

It's our mid-semester exams this week and throughout last week after I saw that file I was like a zombie. Numb throughout my punishment. I can't even remember most of the events that took place and to top it off, my dad has been unusually silent.

I hate my life right now. Just saying.

I have three mid-semester exam today; biology, English and Arts. Tomorrow I have maths alone. And Friday I have history. So I have Wednesday, Thursday to myself.

I got to biology class and Mrs James gave me the stink eye. Yep she's still mad at me coming late last time.
When everyone was present, she stood from her chair. "Ok students put your bags in front and phone in this box." She said while passing the box. Once everyone had done as was required she began sharing the questions.

"Your time starts now." She said and retreated to her desk.

^^^^^^^

Fast forward to the end of the day. I was in the library trying to study math for tomorrow. Key word being 'trying'.

I hate math but love my math teacher, Mr Roger.

"It won't solve itself if you keep staring."

I look up to see an amused Mason staring at me. I throw my pen on the desk in exasperation.

"I know that but right now I wish I could burn these books. I genuinely hate maths." He laughs and sits in front of me.

"It's not funny." I grumble, sinking into my seat.

"Ok ok" he raises his hands in surrender. "It's not funny but I can help you study."

I jump in glee. "Really!!"

"Yeah–"

"Wait. How good are you in math?" I question suspiciously.

"I'm average. I'm no math guru but I'm okay." He says with a shrug.

"Just okay? Unbelievable!"

He looks at me weirdly.

"Do you want my help or not?" He asks.

"I do. I do." I say pushing my book towards him.

"Then let's math!" He says excited. I hold back my laughter.

"Who says 'let's math'?" I asked him not able to contain my laughter. I clutch my stomach because it hurts from laughing. I see his ear turn pink of embarrassment.

"It's not funny" he grumbles and pouts like a small child. I found that extremely adorable. It calms me down and I smile sweetly at him.

"Ok I'll stop now."

"At least it got you to laugh. I've been blessed today by the sound of your laughter." He says softly. My cheeks warms up and I look anywhere but him.

He chuckles.

"Ok let's do this." He says referring to the math text book.

(Cue in the narrator voice in SpongeBob) Five minutes later

"We got kicked out." I say quietly.

"Sorry." Mason apologises, rubbing his hands behind his neck.

We are standing in front the library door. Long story short, we got kicked out because Mason thought throwing papers at me and tickling me was a good idea. The librarian got mad and asked us to leave immediately. Worst part I didn't get to study!!!!

Note: Mason does not make a good tutor.

"You didn't even help me in math." I mumbled.

"You're already good. You just need to put your mind to it." He tells me as we walked to the dorms.

" I guess. It's late now. I need to rest, I'm tired. Thanks for today." I yawn and tell him.

"You're welcome. Goodnight." He leans and plants a kiss on my cheek and walks to the direction of the boys dorm.

I stand frozen. If there's anything redder than a tomato, that's my face right now. I lift my hands and touch the spot.

"Yeah, good night."

Another chapter yay!!! *Jumps in glee*
So there's basically not much going on in this chapter. To all the Makayla fans, hope you like the cute library scene. I didn't want to make it too much, at least not yet.

I know I haven't updated in a while and I'm sorry for that but my updates might not be as consistent as it usually is. I have an exam to prepare for and I need to do a lot of studying. I would still update as soon as I get the chance to. So please bare with me.
