Hunting With Pa

Today, Pa is taking me hunting. It's been years since I've went hunting with anyone. Pa goes once or twice a week, but I never join. Today I decided to go.

The boys are taking care of Sawyer today. Sawyer is one year and one month old, he's growing up real fast. He can say mom and dad, very simple one worded sentences. To others, he's easier to understand.

Lyle has started to hang out with Wyatt more. However, he doesn't tell me. Ever since he got mauled seven months back and that whole event at. Dean and Lyle suddenly understood I don't take men's shit. Lyle will just leave, not come back for a couple hours or even a couple days. It scares me. I know somethings wrong, but I don't get in his way. I'm just hoping he makes the right choice. We're still friends, great friends.

I woke up super early and went downstairs to go make some coffee. It wasn't long before Pa was in the kitchen also.

"Thank god you're awake," Pa laughed a little, "Didn't wanna have to come wake you up. Miss grumpy pants".

I took a second, "Who says I'm grumpy?".

"Dean".

I rolled my eyes and smirked, "Of course he does".

"We have a cup of coffee and we're good to go?" Pa asked.

I nodded.

"Good, and you got your guns ready?".

"Yes Pa. Now go sit, you old bastard".

Pa went and sat in the living room. I made the two cups and joined him. We had our cup, then left soon after. We took a carriage so we could bring home more meat if we needed.

"Wanna guess where we're going?" Pa smirked.

"Where?".

"Well, you'd never even guess right anyway. My guess is you've never been up there before. Freed Mountain. Not going on the mountain technically, but the forest around it. The area has some real good quality animals up there. For awhile, Phil and the gang camped there. It's only about two hours from Reed".

I smiled, "That's good. So we can get a few animals and get home quick?".

Pa laughed a little and nodded, "Miss the boy already?".

I laughed too.

"I hear ya. I hear ya".

I took a second, "Those boys are my word, Pa. I'm just glad I can do my best to make it good for them both".

"Well, you made a good start by punching Dean and Lyle in the face".

"Actually I kicked Lyle in the dick. I'm not that much of an asshole to punch him in the face after he was mauled".

Pa and I both laughed.

He patted my shoulder, "You're a crazy bitch Amira, love you kid".

I smiled.

The two of us rode the carriage up past Reed and into the forest. A couple hours later, I could see a mountain I hadn't seen before.

"The area usually isn't busy. I've rarely seen anyone up here, the more meat for us".

I looked around the area. It was beautiful. Quiet, grown over. Kind of reminded me of the cabin at Saint Riviera.

When Dean and I went, Sam took me back to the cabin. It was still there.

"You ready?" Sam asked.

I shrugged, "I don't know".

Sam took a second, "Yeah. I wasn't sure either when I first saw it. Took me awhile, and I wasn't even sure it was still there. It is".
