Dark whispers crawl into my head,
Draining my body of life,
I glance around quickly,
Petrified and confused,
As beads of sweat trickle down my pale skin,
I stutter upon my speech and gaze at my shoes,
"No one really wants you!"
I cower at my formidable tormentors,
Listening to the echos of their snickers,
Until l travel to home,
Where sleeping occurs,
One by one, drinks slide down my throat,
'I can't go to sleep. I can't.' I say repeatedly
I accidentally slip into the vast wasteland of my dreams,
As shadows gradually consume my still body,
From behind,
Reaching to my neck; silently suffocating,
Again and again;
I sit there in a state of nostalgia,
'Manipulate your fears, dear' her soothing words reach my ears,
As light glows from the palm of my hands,
Greedily devouring the predator,
As its obsidian eyes fade into emerald orbs,
Guilt flooding through its veins,
"I am sorry but I was traumatized once too."
