Glass

68 10 2

Shipped in boxes,
Laid gently into newspaper,
Securely wrapped and placed
on tables and counters,
The translucent container,
Empty and seen through
yet everyone admires the craft,
of such material,
it shook under the rumbles of Earth,
stumbling as the table leg broke,
its only support system,
As the glass fell
ever so slowly,
it managed to be saved and stored
into a china case,
Glanced upon everyday
but never taken out.
