HAJIME POV

A bright light blinded my view as I slowly came back to consciousness. I was in my cottage, the window slightly open, making my curtains flow in the wind. Did someone... carry me here? I do recall going to the dining hall, but it gets hazy just after TeruTeru said something. What was that again? No matter how hard I wracked my brain, I couldn't recall what he said back then. Well, whatever.
After stretching, I pushed back the blanket and got up from the bed. On my desk stood a small plate with a sandwich and a glass of water on it. Just looking at it made my stomach growl in terror. A deep sigh later, I sat down at my desk and shoved the sandwich into my mouth. It felt good to eat something at last, with all the thoughts about how to get out of here, I didn't even pay attention to what I was eating, if anything. I emptied the glass of water in one big gulp, feeling life rush back into my veins. It was only then I noticed a handwritten note on the plate.

Hello, Hajime. How are you feeling?
Please eat and drink something, it'll make your body feel better.
     Nagito
PS: If you ever have dry lips again, I'll gladly take care of them like earlier ;)

My cheeks heated up once I read the last line of what Nagito had written. "I'll take care of them like earlier? What did you do earlier, though...?", deep in thought, I licked my lips, noticing a sweet taste unfamiliar to me. Did Nagito...make me drink something? Or maybe...
I immediately shot up from the chair, grabbing my keys and getting out of my cottage. He better tell me what he did or else I'll... I'll... what was I gonna do to him?
I walked back and forth outside my cottage, confused about my own thoughts. But it didn't take long for someone to pull me out of them again. "Hey, Hajime! You're back up!" Mahiru just closed the door to her cottage, jogging over to me. "Do you want to come to the baking lesson with me? Although it's a little late for that", she looked at her watch, carrying her camera in one hand. "Wait, the baking lesson! Is it already over??", I desperately asked. I had promised Nagito to give him some of the chocolate macarons I was going to make, geez. "Just come with me, I want to take pictures of everyone's pastries before we gift them, maybe you can still get yours", she pulled me with her by my arm, walking towards the hotel lobby. Will Nagito be upset with me for missing the meeting? He probably will, huh. I guess I'll be silent for the time being.
When we reached the restaurant, the air was filled with a scent of freshly baked cookies and cake. It smelled delicious. Mahiru dragged me into the group of students in the middle, gathering around TeruTeru and Usami while holding their works in their hands. "Okay everyone! Now, please hand your hard work to the person we drew for you earlier. But please be a little original, yeah? You know, ask them to meet you in private because you have something hot and exciting to show them... you don't want anyone to peep on you, do you? Unless you're into it, I mean...hehe." TeruTeru held both hands over his heart and blushed while saying that. He probably thought of some other stuff than what he was explaining. Usami simply stood beside him and nodded. "Love! Love! Thank you for participating!" She then aimed her magic stick at the ceiling, causing heart shaped confetti to fall from the sky. Then she disappeared.
Everyone stood there in awkward silence. I couldn't spot Nagito anywhere, maybe he wasn't even here. I sat down at one of the tables near the stairs, watching my fellow classmates asking one another to talk in private like middle school teens making their first confession on valentine's day. Well, everyone except Nekomaru. His happy laughter could be heard across the whole room as he gave his dumbbell shaped and icing covered cookies to Hiyoko. "Wow, Mr. Muscles Only can actually make cute cookies! That's so funny!"
Once again, the room emptied. Everyone seemed to be in a really joyful mood. Seeing people like Hiyoko and Fuyuhiko finally get along with everyone else made me smile. Nekomaru had lifted the small girl up on her shoulders, and their happy laughter could be heard throughout the whole building while they walked outside to chase crabs on the beach. Fuyuhiko didn't seem very different at first, but when handing his cinnamon rolls to Peko, he looked like a tomato. But there was one person who didn't receive anything. Nagito. He stood at the back of the restaurant talking to TeruTeru, a small plate in his hands. Did he make it for him? After all, there's no chance he would've conveniently gotten my name in the drawing, right?
TeruTeru gestured in my direction, and I quickly stood up as I saw Nagito come towards me, still holding his plate with a tiny cover over it. "Hey, Nagito. Sorry about earlie- hey, what are you-?", Nagito simply grabbed my arm and dragged me after him down the stairs. His eyes not once meeting mine, he made his way straight to his own cottage, letting go of my hand before unlocking the door with his key and gesturing me to go inside. I nervously entered, sitting down on his chair and blushing. It hasn't been my first time in his cottage, but considering it was evening, and he was about to gift me handmade pastries he'd put his heart and soul into, I just couldn't help but be embarrassed, again. He always gets me to be this way huh.
