Chapter 27

I got out of the room to inform him. I couldn't find the voice to say it out loud. But I had to, so I told him what happened minus the part I don't want to tell. He was surprised that I have known him before. He had no recollection of seeing me whatsoever. After that we walked hand in hand  planning to enter the room where Ara laid.

He knocked on the door gaining the kid's attention. We got inside. I have no idea what he's going to tell now. But to my surprise Ji Yoo spoke first, "Oppa, you are the one who bought me icecream that day." Her eyes gleamed, both Kook and I didn't expect her to remember him. Well it's true icecream is the way towards a kid's heart.

"You remember me?" He was shocked as well. She nodded her head in agreement.

"Can I ask what happened to Ara?"  He asked not sure if he did the right thing.

"She got into an accident. She drowned in the flood. The doctors said she's sleeping and it will take time to wake up." She replied with a pout pointing at the still figure on the bed. That's when I noticed the bracelet on her wrist. The same one I had in mine. Jungkook saw it too.

"This bracelet?" He asked.

"That's unnie's. She lets me wear it. She allows only me to wear this. I'm her favourite." She giggled trying to pass a wink.

The one she's wearing is the orginal. Mine is just a reflection like I am. It's not real. I am not real. I'm just a mirror.

The door opened and we saw a lady in her 50s standing there. She frowned seeing an unknown man beside Ara and Ji Yoo.

"Aunty, this is him." She ran towards her with both hands raised.

Jungkook and I were perplexed at the odd thing she just said. But hearing her, the lady's face lightened.

"So you must be the gentleman, our Ara used to talk about." She extended her hand towards him.

He shook hers still confused at what was happening. That's when it hit me. This must be the warden and the stupid old me must have told them about my crush towards him. I'm not going to be able to look at his face ever again. This is so embarassing.

Jungkook subtly gave me a look accompanied with a smirk.

"Nice to meet you. I didn't think you know about me. I'm Ara's friend."

"Oh my bad. We know about you. She have told us. After all you were the first guy who shook her heart." This can't get anymore embarassing than it already is. I face palmed myself.

"What?" His jaw dropped hearing that.

"Ohh, you didn't know? I thought you guys were together. I'm so sorry. Then how did you know her?" Ok we're busted. How are we gonna get away from this mess. I thought to myself.

"We have seen each other here and there and got close, that's all. I was not here and I didn't know about her accident. I only came to know about this recently. And also I thought she already had eyes on someone." Kook managed to make up a story. His skills are out of this world. He also passed me a smirk while wording out the last sentence.

"That's you oppa." Ji Yoo cooed giggling. This must be the first time I thought she should have not talked with her adorable baby face.

"We'll give you some space. You have not seen her in a long time." The lady spoke to avoid the awkward atmosphere we were currently in and stepped out with Ji Yoo by her side.

Jungkook hasn't looked at the real me properly because of all the conversations. He took a seat by the bed. He looked at me and her.

"You look the same." He smiled warmly. He held my hand and brought to his cheeks.

"We need to make this right. I want you to be whole again. I want to be with you. I want us to be together." With that he placed a light kiss on my hand. I leaned towards him and kissed his cheek lightly.

"I will. We will make it work." I whispered it in his ears.
