Leo – 'Were you ever going to tell me?'

The fight was over. A gigantic explosion, and it was over. You looked up to the sky to see two figures – probably Jason and Piper – fall down. Only 2? Where was Leo?

Leo was your boyfriend, your first boyfriend, your first kiss, your first love. The way his eyes seemed to hide his pain, the way he could laugh everything away. Those ways that made you interested in Leo. You took him apart, until he could built himself up again. And then it was time for him to leave on the Agro II. You had been dating for a month when he left.

After the fight, you helped the Hephaestus cabin looking for Leo, but you found no sign. Where could he be? You didn't want him to be dead. He couldn't be, right?

A good thing was that Jason, Piper and Leo's plan had worked. Nature was almost back to normal, and the satyrs couldn't sense Mother Earth anymore. Of course an immortal couldn't die, but the hope was that Gaia couldn't form a consciousness again.

He was dead. He sacrificed himself. It was unreal. Leo, your boyfriend, or actually ex-boyfriend? You don't know.

Now came the worst part. The six demigods who were left and Nico had invited you to meet them on the porch of the Big House. Everyone looked devastated. 'We should have been there at the end. We could've helped Leo.' Jason stated. You felt empty inside. You could've been there! If you just had helped more! You could have- 'It's not right,' Piper agreed with Jason, wiping away her tears. 'All that work getting the physician's cure, for nothing.' That's when Hazel broke down crying. 'Piper, where's the cure? Bring it out.' What cure where they talking about? Was there a chance that..?

Piper unfolded a cloth, and it appeared to be empty. You looked at Hazel. Did Leo have the cure? Then why wasn't he here? You felt your heart break, from the hope you just had and it being crushed again. Tears started to build up, but you held them back. 'How?' Annabeth asked. Frank and Hazel explained everything. You wanted to scream, to cry. But you couldn't. It was like all your abilities to express feelings had disappeared, along with Leo.

When the conversation was over, you wanted to leave as soon as possible, but you were stopped by Frank and Hazel. 'You are (Y/n) right? Leo's girlfriend?' Hazel asked, and you nodded silently. 'Leo wanted you to have this. I am so sorry.' She said as she handed you an envelope. You grabbed it, and started to walk away in the hope that no one had seen your tears.

You didn't open the letter right away. You stared at it, at Leo's messy handwriting. 'To my love, (Y/n)'

When you finally did open the letter, about a week later, you found out about some things that would be better if they had never seen the light.

According to the letter Leo would still be alive. He had used the explosion to get to Ogygia so he could save Calypso. So he did bother to explain why he had wanted to sacrifice himself. Until this moment you hadn't slept well, you hadn't eaten, you had felt empty. And now the only thing that might had given you some redemption, the only sign left from Leo told you he had replaced you for Calypso.

You didn't want to believe it, but the emptiness, the swirling void, the chaos inside, it believed. So, one question remained in your head:

'Were you ever going to tell me?'
