New Gods: Wang Jing Reborn (Courkong Story) [INDEFINITE HIATUS]

Chapter One

Esteemed Guests, if I were you, I'd buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.. 

Courtney had recently moved to Donghai with a new job as a journalist, but right now, she was watching Li Yunxiang's race, along with , as he eventually won first place. 

"You almost messed it up.." Courtney commented. "Good save, bro. Li Yunxiang, sure you weren't distracted?" Kasha asked, almost teasingly. 

"Distracted? What do you know anyway?" Yunxiang replied with. "You're talking to the champion." He looks over at Courtney, "Honestly, I thought I was done for. That last jump shouldn't have even been possible." 

"Okay, big shot. You act tough, but I know what's going on. You just wanna impress that girl, even if it kills you." Kasha said, again, in a teasing manner. Courtney chuckles slightly while Yunxiang scoffs. "I wanted to win. A champion has to be creative."

"Oh come one, you like her, just admit it!" Courtney exclaimed. Kasha threw her arm over Yunxiang, "You should go talk to her!" To this, Yunxiang just grunts, "Get off."

"What's the matter, champ? Are you scared?" Kasha asked, still poking fun at him. As if on cue, the girl in question rode up to fuel up her bike nearby.  Kasha and Courtney both notice Yunxiang staring at her. Kasha scoffs, "I don't see what's so great about her. In just a few years, she'll be an old lady. Calling it now."

Courtney just shakes her head at this, knowing she was just teasing. Yunxiang, now getting off his bike, scoffs back, walking over to the young woman, "What? Don't be ridiculous. Just be cool, okay?" 

"I'm cooler than you! I hope you mess it up." Kasha scoffed yet again. "Oh come on, you don't mean that." Courtney told her reassuringly. 

"Hey, we meet again." Yunxiang said to get the young woman's attention. "Hmm?" She looked up at him.

"Uh.. So, that was intense." He said rather awkwardly. "That shortcut was smart." She stated. Yunxiang just chuckles, "You know, I still don't know you're name." The woman chuckles, looking over his shoulder and noticing Kasha looking annoyed. "Your little girlfriend's getting upset." She said, getting back onto her bike. "Uh.. She's not my.." Yunxiang tried explaining. "Catch you later." She said before driving off. "Uh, okay! Looking forward to it!" He said as she drove off. 

Kasha sighs, "That was pretty bad. You're lucky you have me." Yunxiang sighs as he gets onto and starts his bike, Kasha getting on the bike behind him. "You sure you don't need me to drive you home?" Yunxiang asked Courtney, looking over at her. "Oh, yeah, I'm sure. I live not too far from here, so I should be fine." Courtney answered, hoping it would reassure him. 

Before anyone else could say anything, a masked man approached them, getting really close to Yunxiang. "Ah, hey, kid, nice bike you got there. Can you modify mine just like it? Huh? Huh?" 

"Why should I?" Yunxiang asked, revving up his bike, and then taking off, leaving Courtney and the Masked Man in the dust. "Whoa! Hey, hey, hey! Don't go! I run this place!" The Masked Man tried calling out to Yunxiang, hoping to get his attention. As he continued to try getting his attention, Courtney decided to just try and walk home now that this stranger was distracted. "I live up there! Come hang out when you're free. Please mod my bike!" This managed to get a chuckle out of Courtney. What she didn't realize, since her back was turned, was that this stranger in question had thought she looked familiar, and watched her as she walked away. By the time he had thought of something to say, she was already to far ahead of him. 

"Was that..? No, that couldn't have been.."
