AUTHORS NOTE: I am going to change the story line slightly. In this version each training group has four people in it because yes. Please don't be too upset with  me about it. Also, it's Beltane today!! I've been working on this book for awhile but I decided today would be a good day to publish it since today is A holiday that is talked about in the book. (AKA- a witches holiday lmao)

"Get out." My father said quietly.

"W-what."

"I SAID GET OUT!" He yelled. My hands shook as I grabbed my jacket, wallet, and the small medal.

"Your going to end up just like her... dead." Tears sprung to my eyes.

"Your wrong! I am doing this for the good of-"

"Your doing this for you, Saturn! That's all you ever think about."

"Your a narcissist dad... don't expect to see me again." I said before leaving.

-TIME SKIP-

Me, and all the other training cadets sat stomping our feet. Once we stopped, the Commander started her speech. I didn't pay much attention to it, mainly because speeches bore me, and I have read about her stories over and over again.

I had zoned out but snapped back to it when the stomping continued for the last time. Afterwards they led us all to another room where we sat or stood around waiting for further instruction.

A woman walked in before looking around.

"Welcome to all-suite Circe Barracks, the finest on the base. I am Drill Sergeant Anacostia Quartermane." She spoke loudly and firmly. "My job is to keep you alive throughout basic so the Military High Council can determine if you go on to War College. Or not. Starting this year you will rise and fall as units." She couldn't be serious.

"That means how anyone in your unit preforms in basic, is how everyone preforms in your basic. Your job, is to be effective soldiers, displaying at all time the most military of virtues. Suite numbers are on the back of your medals, go meet the rest of your units." She told us. Everyone waited, unsure if she meant now or not.

"NOW LADIES." And just like that everyone jumped up.

-TIME SKIPE-

I walked into my dorm room to see three other girls standing there already.

"You must be Saturn Jones." A red headed girl greeted me with a smile.

"Yep." I said.

"I'm Tally, and this is Bellweather and Raelle. Sounds like we are going all the way together." She cheered.

"Onward to Glory Soldiers." Abigail said. She had dark hair and dark brown eyes.

"Well, rah, rah, rah. Sounds like a poster." Raelle said sarcastically. I set my belongings on one of the nightstands and climbed into the bed above Abigail's. It was the only one without stuff on it.

"I assure you, the sentiment is sincere." Abigail argued.

"Bellweather huh? Sound's familiar." I could feel a feud already starting to form, but I wasn't sure how close it was to being a problem.

"Army's crawling with Bellweathers." Raelle began hanging a blanket from Tally's bed to cover her own bunk.

"No way is that gonna pass inspecting." Bellweather told her. She sighed and shrugged her shoulders.

"Cross that bridge I guess."

"Didn't you bring anything with you?" Bellweathers attention was now on me. She was looking at the three things I set down on the nightstand. My medal, jacket, and wallet.

"Long story." I whispered.

"Where are you from?" She asked me.

"Um, Colorado." I gave the shortest answer possible.

"I'm from Norcal. Sacramento. I grew up on  matrifocal compound so it's really far from the city." Tally said.

"A what compound?"

"Matrifocal." She told us, expecting us to know what that meant. "No dudes, like, ever." I smiled. I had gotten the 'innocent' vibes when she greeted me at the door, but now I was sure. Granted, even I was a virgin, but that was by choice. She continued rambling on about the compounds but Bellweather cut her off.

"I'm sorry, I'm still caught on the 'no dudes' part. So your a virgin?" She asked. I choked a bit, not expecting her to be so bold. Tally nodded innocently.

"Oh... lemme see your mark." She walked closer to Tally who moved her hair over to the side to reveal her black mark behind her ear.

"It changes when you have sex for the first time. Becomes Shinier." Bellweather lifted her shirt to reveal her mark. It was a pinkish purplish shade with a shine to it.

"Where's yours?" Tally asked Raelle and I.

"Literally an inch from my vagina, so maybe when we get to know each other better." Raelle said.

"I'm with her on this, I don't like showing it." I said. Mine was on my inner upper thigh.

"But is it...." She looked around shyly. "Is it shiny?" Tally whispered. We all started laughing, including Tally. Okay, this isn't so bad.
