Kaldur knew that something bad was happening that day. The ocean has been in distress for months. The waves were getting harsher and hurricanes were happening in places that normally didn't happen
Kaldur guessed that Poseidon wasn't in a good mood.
Before he began his work as Aqualad, he worshipped the gods above him.
His king, Orin, was the son of one of the most powerful gods that existed in the Greek pantheon.
It was a closely kept secret to the mortal world that greek gods existed. It was also a secret that Aquaman himself was one as well. He was the son of the emperor and empress of seas, with special orders that allowed him to interfere with mortal lives.
The gods were at war.
Against who?
Kaldur didn't know.
The gods kept it a tight secret.
When he asked Orin why the emperor was mad, all he replied with was that something big was happening.
His king should be out there, defending his immortal family as much as he could.
As much as he loved the team, he should be out there next to Aquaman, helping with whatever threat he was facing.
That was the whole reason his team formed the Young Justice team. It was so that they could prove to their mentors that they could handle everything that their mentors were facing.
But no matter how many missions they've accomplished, it felt like it was never enough.
Sometimes, Kaldur believed that Speedy, now named the Red Arrow, made the right choice on going solo.
The Justice League never told them anything. It made them feel useless. They were heroes, they couldn't just sit around and wait for other people to save the world. That's not what heroes do.
That was the reason that they decided to let Robin hack the system so that they could receive alerts as well. They were tired of the secrets their mentors kept.
They just wanted to know what was going on with the world.
Is that so bad?
To the team, hacking the Justice League system was justified. They were supposed to work together. But how can you work with someone when they barely trust you?
Plus, it wasn't like they were running around with unsupervised or unapproved missions. They weren't being unreasonable. They just wanted to help.
An alert was suddenly heard by everyone in the room. The sound came from Robin's glove- it was a low riotous sound. The exact sound they programmed to play when the Justice League received an alert.
Robin quickly read the details, "This alert is insane!" The young boy sighed in disbelief as the sound continued to get more high-pitched. "Apparently something big is happening in Athens."
"The one in Greece?" Wally asked, his interest peaked.
Artemis rolled her eyes. "Where else? The one in Vegas."
Kaldur ignored them, instead, he turned all his focus on Robin.
He knew the story behind Athens pretty well. It was the beginning of the feud between Poseidon and Athena. A feud that he was pretty sure still lasted to this day.
"Okay, so there's a bunch of earthquakes happening." Robin continued to read, "Like the intense ones that cause the ground to split open. Apparently, you can hear explosions happening along with screaming. A lot of screaming."
