Athens was a mess.
Diana and the rest of her colleagues were trying to do as much damage control as they could.
It wasn't enough.
The Justice League may be powerful but they were no match against the enemies of the gods.
"Do you have any idea what's going on?" she asked Orin.
Screams filled the air as Diana felt the ground roughly shake.
"The war." Orin managed to say, "It finally begins."
Diana tightened her grip on her lasso, "What do we need to do?"
"Save as many civilians as possible," the god's eyes were focused on the direction of the battle, and Diana couldn't help but wonder if he could see what was happening.
Diana nodded, quickly running in the opposite direction.
Hopefully, the demigods knew what they were doing.
Even with the ground shaking violently, the League managed to help a majority of the civilians escape.
Diana doesn't know how long they've been in Athens, but it felt like days. Her whole body ached.
Her eyes drifted towards the direction the battle was taking place. She might not be able to see past much due to all the smoke, but she could still hear properly.
She could hear a lot of persistent, piercing noises, with the occasional explosion.
Diana tried to steady her breath, trying to calm the panic stirring inside of her.
These are the seven most powerful demigods of the century, she reminded herself. If anyone can win us this battle, it'll be them.
Suddenly, she felt someone appear next to her.
"My father's presence appeared around an hour or two ago." While the god said that in a calm voice, Diana heard the small quiver in his voice. "The battle should be over soon."
He was nervous.
Diana didn't mention anything. Instead, she tilted her head to face the god, "Then let's hope that our side is victorious."
Before Orin could reply, another explosion happened.
Diana managed to take a hold of the god's arm before the ground violently shook, taking many trees and the remaining buildings down to the ground.
"These earthquakes are getting more and more violent," Diana growled in frustration. "Can you feel any mortals among us?"
Orin shut his eyes before shaking his head. "No. It's only us, Batman, Superman, an-"
Another earthquake happened. This one was so violent that it almost knocked Orin down as well.
The air around her began to get warmer. When Diana glanced at the sky, she saw clouds forming.
Before she could ask Orin about it, her eyes caught the blazing ball of fire in the sky. It was heading towards them.
"Is that the fucking sun?" she couldn't help but ask.
Orin shook his head, "No, it's a demig-"
A high-pitched scream filled the air and Diana felt like someone managed to pierce her heart with a scorching sword.
She turned in the direction of the scream, Orin quickly duplicating her actions before she narrowed her eyes at the sight of the young sidekick team a few feet in front of them.
