I don't know how it happened, but it's like everything that the medallion could do was failing for some reason. I was alert and wasn't seeing anything that would lead me to her. Even when I was walking through my neighborhood after picking up my costume from my house, I still didn't feel anything when seeing the kids go out with their parents.
"Did I start controlling this thing all of the sudden?" I wondered to myself as I looked at the medallion, no glowing or anything. I was relieved but at the same time, I was confused. Not to mention I hadn't seen Sam or Kara since I got up.
I got an idea in my mind. If I do have control over the medallion, maybe I could use it against her. I needed to tell Sam and Kara but still hadn't seen them yet. I pulled my phone out and called both of them, no answer. "Maybe they're just at their house." I thought before heading over.
I headed over and knocked on the door, silence was my response. Maybe they were just getting ready? I walked inside and looked around. "Guys?" I asked walking around the house, it was empty. I was about to leave when my phone went off.
I looked to see that I had a message from an unknown labeled number. I shook my head before seeing the message. "Don't bother looking for them, Sam and Kara are with me." I read the message. "They are not the only ones, all the children will feel my wrath." The message continued. "They are my prisoners until fear eats them alive, they will pay for my death."
I immediately recognized it has a similar writing style to the letters Sam and Kara had mentioned. I knew that now there wasn't a choice at this point, I had to go back. I exited the house, found Sam's truck, and got in.
After a few hours, I nearly reached the amusement park as the sky grew dark and a fog rolled in. I was more cautious this time as I pulled in and walked through the amusement park. The lights of the park were flickering as I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. A loud crash was suddenly heard and I turned to see Kara running towards me.
I wasn't sure if the darkness was playing tricks on me, but Kara's costume looked different, it looked like a vampire queen instead of a witch. Did she have a last-minute change or something? That didn't matter now, we needed to get out of here. "Where's Sam?" I asked. "I don't know," Kara said. "He was right behind me."
That was when I realized where she had run from, The Haunted Screamer, the ride that started it all. "I'll find him," I said to Kara. "Get to the truck," I said. Kara nodded and we parted ways.
I neared the ride and looked around. "Sam!" I called out. "Let me go, please!" I heard Sam shout, followed by Nanny Clownface's laughter. I raced over to where the voice came from, a room with a wooden door. I went to open the door and the knob came off in my hand.
Are you kidding me? I needed to get Sam out of there. I used all the strength I had to break down the door. Once I did, the screaming stopped and the room was empty. "You can't save them all." I heard Sam say behind me. I turned to see not Sam, but Nanny Clownface with a wicked smile. "But you shouldn't have taken my medallion." She said as her voice transitioned from Sam's to her own.
I backed away. "Not happening Joker-face," I said to her. "Oh my dear child," Nanny Clownface said. "You find it so easy to play the brave role, don't you?" She asked as her expression turned sinister and she launched herself towards me.
I jumped back, landing on the ground as the medallion glowed. Another phrase kept repeating in my head. "αποσυνδέστε τον δεσμό!" I shouted. The chain holding the medallion vanished, causing the medallion to fall onto my lap.
Nanny Clownface rose into the air and prepared for another attack. I picked up the medallion as it gave a bright glow. "You want it so bad?" I asked, looking at her. "Come and get it!" I shouted as I threw it towards a brick wall.
As it neared the wall, I watched as Nanny Clownface flew towards it in an attempt to grab it. The medallion hit the wall, shattering on impact. A bright glow escaped the now shattered medallion, causing her to scream with a similar sound to nails on a chalkboard as she went from her normal form to a skeleton, then ashes.
I started running before I noticed the glow turn into pure energy, exploding and knocking me back. I crashed into the room nearby through a window and slammed into the wall. My vision blurred and I get a lot of pain, but I slumped onto the ground and blacked out once again.
