Narrator: Takeshi Nomura was born in feudal Japan. His family was poor and he has two siblings Nakoto and Taiga. His father is a fisherman and his mother tends to the garden and watches the kids. Even though his family is of low status for some reason there is a sword in a chest that used to belong to his great grandfather. The tale is that his great grandfather took it from a slain demon. The sword is said to be cursed and if a true user comes forth and claims it they will be forever cursed as well. Takeshi's father Fumio told him never to touch that sword as he believes the legend to be true. The sword cannot be sold as well because a calamity would fall on the family. The story starts with Fumio fishing with Takeshi.
Fumio: I'm getting lucky today Takeshi. I guess I need you to come fish with me more often.
Takeshi: Thanks, dad. People do say I am really lucky. So are we going to use some of the fish for miso soup today?
Fumio: Lucky and smart. You will achieve great things Takeshi. I just know it. I just love your mom's cooking. Aha! Caught another one. That is the twelfth one! I might even catch enough to get us some wine.
Takeshi: Can I drink some wine this time dad?
Fumio: Your birthday is in two days and you will be fifteen. I cannot see why not. You will finally be a man.
Takeshi: Wait, do you smell smoke?
Fumio: Now do you mention it? It might be the raiders. Let's go back to the village to check!
Takeshi: Old man Ryou what happened here? Was it the raiders?!
Ryou: Run young Takeshi. It was not the raiders. It was monsters. Our village was protected by a seal created by a Shaman but I guess the time for the seal wore off.
Takeshi: Monsters? It can't be. Mom! Nakoto! Taiga! Are you in there?
Nakoto: Big brother I saw the monsters. They killed so many people. They are still in the village. I'm so scared.
Takeshi: Don't worry I'll protect you. I guess old man Ryou was right.
Fumio: Don't be ridiculous Takeshi I will protect our family. I'll grab my ax. I'll be back!
Takeshi: Dad I'll go with you.
Fumio: No Takeshi. If I fall then you will be the man of the house.
Narrator: The second Fumio stepped out of his house his head slipped right off. A monster had killed him. This scene made Takeshi go into a blind rage and he rushed towards the chest containing the cursed sword and he grabbed it. He was worthy of it and he began to change. He had dog-like ears now, sharp teeth, and a tail. Takeshi rushed the demon and with one swing slain it. After he slew the demon he calmed down as he mourned for his father. More demons started appearing and Takeshi continued to slain one after another but then the boss of them came. A giant Oni appeared in front of Takeshi.
Takeshi: So you're the big boss of these demons! Your kind killed my father! Killed many of the villagers! Why did you do this?
Oni: Humans food. You are food! Aaaah!!
Takeshi (thinking): If I get hit by that giant ax I'm done for. I need more power. What would Raijin do in this situation?
Narrator: The moment Takeshi thought of Raijin his form changed and he now resembled the Thunder god.
Oni: Tanuki human. Tanuki weak! Ahaha!
Takeshi (thinking): I'm a Tanuki now. I wonder if I have Raijin's power as well.
Takeshi: Feel the beat of my drums! Divine thunder!!
Oni: Aaaaahhh!
Takeshi: That finished it. I feel exhausted.
Narrator: Takeshi fainted and he was treated by the villagers. However, they told him he had to leave as he was no longer human and he would attract more demons to the village. Some demons seek to be the most powerful. His family buried his father and Takeshi said goodbye. His mom made him many meals for his journey as he set out to slain all evil demons.
