Lothal, Aboard The Ghost, 0600 a.m.
"HEY EZRA!" Kanan shouted into his ear. Ezra jumped so big he fell off his bed. Kanan laughed at his padawan as he wiggled around on the floor trying to get untangled from his blanket.
"What's the big idea?" Ezra asked, glaring up at Kanan.
"It's your birthday, dork." Kanan said, rubbing the top of Ezra's head.
"All the more reason for me to sleep in." Ezra said, crawling back into his bed. He pulled his pillow over his head and tucked his knees up underneath him. His bare feet stuck out from underneath his blanket.
"Jack says hi." Ezra said.
"That's creepy." Kanan said, grabbing the pillow and tossing it to the floor.
"Jaaaack!" Ezra yelled, leaping off the bed. He landed on the pillow and slid into the door. "Ow."
"Come on, Ezra. I got you something." Kanan said, opening the door.
"It's like six in the morning! There is no birthday present that can't wait till noon!" Ezra yelled, curling up on the floor.
"Get up!" Kanan said, kicking him in the butt.
"Fine! I'm up! If I pass out later from extreme lack of sleep, it's all your fault!" Ezra said, standing up and hugging his pillow.
"You have to leave the pillow." Kanan said.
"Jack is family. He comes." Ezra said, smiling darkly. Kanan shivered.
"Yeah, okay. Whatever. Just get your boots on and meet me outside." Kanan said, walking down the corridor. A couple minutes later Ezra walked down the ramp with his headphones on. Music blared loudly from them. Kanan yanked them off and shouted.
"HEY! CAN YOU STILL HEAR ME?!"
"Ow! Yes, I can hear you!" Ezra said, rubbing his ears. Kanan just shrugged.
"Just checking." He grinned.
"So what's so great that you had to wake me up this early?" Ezra asked as they walked through the grass.
"Well, I guess it could have waited, but. . ." Kanan replied.
"In that case." Ezra said, whipping around. Kanan grabbed his vest and pulled him back.
"It's six seventeen. It's not that early, so come on." Kanan said. Ezra groaned but continued walking anyways.
"Hey, remember when you tried hiding from me in the grass during lightsaber training?" Kanan asked suddenly. Ezra laughed quietly.
"Yeah, that didn't work very well." Ezra said, smiling at the memory. They walked untill they reached the edge of Capital City.
"Here, you'll need this." Kanan said, handing him something. It was one of Sabine's paint bombs.
"Do you remember what happened last time we did this?" Ezra asked, grinning.
"This time we'll get the paint on the stormtroopers." Kanan said, laughing a bit.
"Then let's go!" Ezra said happily. They ran towards the market place, excited to cause some trouble.
