Miss Argentina, along with whatever help she could find from the Netherworld, stepped out into the living world around three or so hours later. At her arrival, the Maitland-Deetz family looked up. Betelgeuse stood up immediately, going over towards where Miss Argentina and the group of deceased that were all willing to help were standing.
Looking from one deceased person to the next, Betelgeuse eventually returned his attention back over towards Miss Argentina with a stunned expression on his face.
"Woah, Les," he commented. "You actually got a couple of the Netherworld's highest powers to help? How?"
She moved forwards, putting a hand on Betelgeuse's shoulder. "Sí. Fue muy fácil. They were both actually really willing to help, surprisingly. And here I thought that all of the other higher powers had it out for you after you got rid of Juno."
"Who else did you get?" Betelgeuse spoke up again, a few minutes having passed by.
"Well, one of the ones who helped contribute to the most recent edition of the Handbook for the Recently Deceased was willing to help as well. Said they were willing to help and add all of this stuff with the barrier and the prophecy as well as include all of us." Miss Argentina gestured to herself before gesturing to Betelgeuse himself to the rest of the Maitland-Deetz family. "In and to the Netherworld's history for the next edition of the Handbook when all of this is done."
"Great!" Betelgeuse spoke up again, motioning the rest of the Maitland-Deetz family around him so that they could all discuss what to do and how to go about it. The Deetzes, Maitlands, and Betelgeuse sat together on the couch that was facing forwards - whereas the rest of the deceased decided to stand around.
Summoning her own copy of the Handbook, which was written in Spanish, Miss Argentina moved to stand over near where Betelgeuse and the Maitland-Deetzes were. Betelgeuse had summoned his as well, and Lydia was looking through her book on mediumship. After what seemed like a while, the now-group of eleven looked up at the slightest instance of a loud but low noise coming from one of the walls of the living room.
"What in the living world?" Barbara spoke out of confusion, her, Adam, Betelgeuse, and Lydia standing up. Their attention, along with everyone else's, was immediately directed towards the fireplace. Or above it, that was.
They took notice of an opened glitching door to the Netherworld, it staying that way and not closing. They took notice of the shadows that were filtering out of the door and into the living room. Eventually, though, the door to the Netherworld stopped glitching and closed. Fading out of existence, disappearing, as if nothing had happened in the first place. Both Betelgeuse and Miss Argentina glanced around the living room, nervously eyeing all of the shadows that weren't supposed to be there to begin with.
Betelgeuse levitated his copy of the Handbook over towards him, worriedly flipping through it in hopes of figuring out what exactly happened. Though, in his head, it was clear to him what the cause of all of this was.
Miss Argentina peered down at it, then looked at Betelgeuse. "Esperar. Was that supposed to happen or?"
"I'm not sure," Betelgeuse said, closing his copy of the Handbook for the Recently Deceased after he couldn't find anything helpful regarding the many shadows that had filtered out of the door to the Netherworld and into the living world.
With doors to the Netherworld now glitching and the barrier between both of the worlds now faded and gone forever, that made Miss Argentina and the help worried as to just how many recently deceased ghosts were going to be stuck in the living world with no way to go to the Netherworld. They were afraid more than what happened was going to happen next and they were afraid of what it possibly could be.
Before anyone could say anything, a sudden noise distracted them.
Thump!
Everyone turned their heads to the source of the noise to find Lydia laying on the floor. At that, Barbara, Adam, Charles, Delia, and Emily moved over to her and kneeled down on the floor around her, making sure she was okay. Delia carefully pressed the back of one of her hands to Lydia's forehead then retracted it, looking at the rest of the gathered adults with a worried expression on her face.
"She's cold. But she is luckily still breathing. I don't know what's going on. Do you guys think it has something to do with the prophecy and what's been going on?"
Things went silent for a brief while, but soon afterwards the other four adults nodded their agreement. When they heard Lydia stir and sit upright, resting a hand against her forehead as she came to. Her vision, blurry, took a while to clear. She looked around the room at her gathered family and the gathered deceased. All of whom were looking at her with equal looks of concern and worry.
"Ugh!" she groaned as her mother and Barbara helped her up and gently sat her down on the couch she'd been sitting on before her brief episode.
Barbara put a hand on Lydia's back, rubbing comforting circles into it. "Could you describe what happened, Lydia?"
Turning her attention to Barbara, Lydia closed her eyes and relaxed before opening them again. "One of the shadows came right at me. Went right through me and knocked me out cold. I'm not really sure what happened. But that sensation was weird."
"You sure it wasn't possession, scarecrow?" Betelgeuse questioned.
Lydia shook her head no in response.
"Well whatever's going on. We need to figure out a way to get the barrier between here and the Netherworld back to normal. As well as try to figure out a way to get the doors to the Netherworld to stop glitching and working like normal again. And we have to do all that as soon as we figure out how to get all of these shadows back inside the Netherworld," Barbara spoke, glancing around the room at everyone else.
"But how are we going to do that, Barbara, honey?" Adam questioned, his tone confused as he turned towards his wife.
"You know, I actually have no idea. But we'll figure it out. Soon, I hope."
