Set between Chapter 22 and 24
Alex
"And may She bestow that and more unto you," I said to Henry. We hung up and I stared at my phone. How does that bastard keep surprising me and force me to like him? I shook my head with a smile.
"It's because he is essentially a man who was born to lead, like you and takes his duty as seriously as you do, Alex," Delphine said.
I look at Del. Her eyes were a little puffy from lack of sleep and her hair was all messed up on the pillow. She was so gorgeous my heart ached. How could anything be as beautiful as she is in these moments? "You know me so well, Del."
She sighed, "I know you well enough that you won't be going back to sleep. Would you like a coffee before we wake the pack?"
I grinned at her, "Yes." Del sat up to get out of bed but I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her back into bed. She giggled as she always did when I played rough. I pinned her beneath me and nuzzled into her neck, "But first, I need to be inside you. Nothing wakes me up like feeling you cum around my cock."
Del blushed but giggled. Despite her outward shyness, when we were alone and intimate, she was passionate, hungry and frisky. Her legs wrapped around me, grinding against me, showing me her need was as strong as mine.
Later, Del made breakfast and I woke Mother. I knocked on her door and she answered, looking as sleepless as all of us had been lately. She took one look at me and knew why I had woken her. "It's time then?"
I nodded. Mother grabbed me in an embrace then pulled my head down to kiss both my cheeks. "Your father would be so proud of you, Alex."
Blinking back tears, I said gruffly, "Thank you, Mother." I unwrapped myself from her embrace, "Get ready. Del is in the kitchen making breakfast for you. I will wake the children."
I woke Sierra first, she was notoriously difficult to wake. I shook her gently, her forehead wrinkled and she rolled away from me, pulling the blankets up over her head. "Go away, Daddy," she said in her childish cranky voice.
I chuckled. "You don't want me to go away, Sie," I warned. "If I can't wake you up, I'll have to send the tickle monster in, and you know what the tickle monster will do."
"No Daddy!" Sierra cried, already starting to giggle and wriggle in anticipation under her covers.
"Oh no," I cried with mock terror. "Here he is!" Tickling Sierra gently over the blankets she giggled and kicked until she poked her little head up. "There you are," I said and gave her a kiss on the nose. I asked her to get up and go see Mommy in the kitchen for breakfast and that Nanny would be taking her and Charlie on a special trip today.
I went to Charlie's room and woke him next. He woke easier, but his response broke my heart. "Is Mum ok?" he asked even before he had wiped the sleep from his eyes.
"Yes, she's fine, Charlie," I assured him. "Henry called and he and your mother had to go to his house. They won't be able to see you for a while, Charlie." I see his chin wobble and I quickly said, "Your mother will call you as soon as she can. She wants you to go with your Nanny for a while and I do too. Things are going to be a bit rough here, Charlie." Part of me wondered if this is too much for a little boy to handle. But, he has been so strong, so brave, I felt like it would be wrong to lie to him.
"I could stay and help," Charlie said. His confidence and bravery made me proud. He may look like me, but he was his mother's son and had her courage in spades.
"I know you could, Charlie," I said, giving him a hug. "But I have a more important job for you. I need you to protect your little sister while you are away. You know how easily she gets herself into trouble." I gave him a conspiratorial wink.
