And with the end of Signal, comes the trivia page.Another inside look to what all I had to do for characters, and sharing my thoughts on how I handled them.
SevenOkay, I will admit, I had a lot of fun writing him. He's such an angy bundle of nerves that loves his sister (or at least tolerates her) with smol gay feels. If anyone remembers in my art book when I was releasing the Raincoat characters with pride flags, I didn't actually put Seven's pride colors down or give him a flag. This was a hint to him being in the closet due to what happened with Mono. Can confirm though, he is bi.
Six
The one who saw the least amount of character development and spotlight. I never really had a big over arcing thing for her, and I'm actually really disappointed with how I handled her in this story. If I ever did try to edit this (again), I definitely want to rewrite her. And speaking of needing a rewrite...
(Edit: I did better with her time around, so I like this better than before)
Bandage
I did everyone dirty with him. He was our first other feral child and I did really, really bad on him. At first, I though he was around eight or nine years olds, so I thought 'cool, Six might have a mentor/brother figure' but after looking on the LN wiki and he was called 'The Toddler' I knew I screwed up. I got rid of his a over cautious and overprotective-ness and tried to make him seem a lot younger and smaller and be like a little brother to Six. Didn't work out, and I know some people got annoyed with his character and I don't blame them.
(Edit: I tried to make Bandage more shy and quiet this time, while still wanting to show Six around and I think I did okay on it. Before, I didn't like him getting loud of being overly excited over small things, so I know I've improved him compared to what he was before)
Rain
Rain, honey, I love you so much. She was my first attempt at writing an abuse victim without it be shoved in your face. I tried to base her personality off of mine, with even a bit of inspiration from Ultimate's RainWing charater, Passion, from an old story of theirs. I knew I wanted her to be the opposite of Seven: calm, happy, the voice of reasoning to his rash behavior. I like how I did her, one of the easier characters to write too.
Mono (Metronome)
As much as I hate him just like everyone else, I actually really liked writing him. I tried to make a character that seems scary, unstoppable, fully in control with no moral compass of his own. I had the idea of Mono being evil from the moment I started writing Raincoat and kept it. I know a lot of people didn't like this, but I love changing what people suspect would be a character's personality and have it be another. I did get a few pms of people commenting and complaining about it, but I just muted them and ignored them.
Arcane
He didn't get much spotlight, but I still liked writing him. This gay hunger demon is a nasty good boi and I love him. He just wants Seven, both literally and as an innuendo.
