—Wren—

A Party? I needed to get home. True I would have given anything to eat tea cakes and cucumbers sandwiches with my favorite characters, but my wants weren't important. I had a life back at home.
"Alright, sounds fun!" I said. I felt guilty, but this was my best option. Maybe the party people would understand my problem and offer to help me.
"Follow me." Feng said. he led me down a stony cobblestone path.
"So, tell me about your world." Feng said attempting small talk.

"London is doing well, the weather is um...sunny there, but not to sunny, just like, London sunny." I said. I wasn't prepared for sudden conversation so I quickly resorted to talking about the weather.

"Do you have any friends there?" he asked. It was a bit impolite for him to ask that, but I excused him because, well, he wasn't used to my teachings.

"Well there is my kitten, Diane." I said, flushing a slight pink at the shame of having hardly anything to report.

"YOUR kitten?" Feng asked stopping abruptly.

"Oh...I apologize. In my world we um...have them as...pets." I said extremely embarrassed, my cheeks were getting hotter and could likely melt down metal. I eyed his tail which was flickering back and forth, lightly touching my hip but flying back to his side. Could he control his tail? Or was it simply an impulse controls by some sixth sense.

Feng continued to walk, faster this time. Without another word from both of us we reached a sign. It had four arrows attached, one said go here another said don't go here the problem being they were both pointing left. The ones that were pointing right said this way! and certain death.

"How do you survive here?" I asked. It was pretty amazing he knew wich roads to travel. For me it was hard enough to navigate the streets back at home, even with signs that actually made sense!

"I wouldn't know i'm just a DUMB cat." Feng said with an upset look on his face.

"Look Feng i'm sorry, I didn't know cats could be so-"

"Smart?" he interrupted. I gently put my hands on both of his shoulders and turned him towards me.

"Kind." I finished. I meant it too. back at home nobody took the time to teach me cards or chat with me about stupid insignificant things like the weather. Nobody else took pleasure in hearing about my cat and nonexistent friends! Feng turned a pale color biting his pink lips. we didn't talk at all after that. we eventually got to the 'party' at least I think it was the party. it had the food lying symmetrically on the table and lots and lots of teacups. How many people were supposed to be here? It was missing the crowd. There were two other people at the party. One was an extremely tall boy with a light blue tee shirt, black pants, scraggly white hair, and emerald green eyes. The other one was a tall hourglass shaped girl with a light blue skintight dress and tiny lime green top hat that had adorable blue feathers on it. She also had a short silver bob and brown eyes.

"Honey!" the girl screeched with a high pitched voice. "I didn't expect to see you here cutie!" she said leaning over the long table and almost falling face first into a  raspberry tart o the table below her. then my blue eyes made contact with her brown ones. "Who's the GIRL?" she said. Feng quickly detached from my arm as if he never knew me at all.

"Oh, this is Wren, found her near the old birch tree. Wren this is Trisie, We are courting and you may know her as the great granddaughter of the Mad Hatter, this is her twin brother Cooper." Feng said gesturing to the girl and boy. Trisie glared at me.

"How about we leave you guys here and we'll go head over to the forest and talk about guy stuff." Cooper said leading Feng astray the 'party.'

"Hello!" I said to Trisie politely. she didn't say anything back, she just stared with distain, me taking me in.

"May I please have some tea?" I asked. I knew I should wait until she offered but by her cold exterior I knew she probably wouldn't.

"Sure." she said still staring at me. she took a porcelain tea cup from aside her in her right hand and a teapot in her left.she poured it slowly and I watched the black liquid stream out of the spout. when she was done she slid the cup over to me. I held the cup gently to my lips. before I could take a sip I heard a scream.

"Um...should we check that out?" Trisie said with a worried look on her face. I nodded and we walked into the birch. Trisie gasped. I looked down onto the red mulch. Lying there was an unconscious Cooper, he had a maroon eye oozing with blood and swollen shut and he was holding his bleeding ear. Standing over him was Feng.

"FENG! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" Trisie yelled. Feng was silent.

"Feng, what happened?" I asked him. He still said nothing. then he began to walk away.

"Feng...wait up!" I said. He kept walking. I followed him. we went deeper and deeper into the forest. occasionally Feng would change directions and I would follow.  what happened?
