Tomorrow was finally the day of the surgery, the day I was supposed to quit being a manager. I used to hate it, but now it's like a second home. Everyone believed the surgery would work because if they didn't how else would they be able to cope with today. Today I wasn't going to think about it; instead, I just wanted to live out my day as if it was a typical day.
However, today was going to be a bit different. Instead of spending my time alone, the day started by eating with my family before my sister, our mum and I went shopping to help me get ready for my first ever date with Kuroo. This week they played some official matches to see if they will make it to nationals and thankfully they won. We were going to nationals!
The three of us wandered around the mall, going into different shops until we finally found the one. Once my eyes caught a glimpse of it, I knew it was the one. I know most people don't dress up for a first date like this, but this might be my last d-. Stopping my negative thoughts as I go into the changing room before showing both my mum and sister. My mum paid for it as we went somewhere to eat, but I didn't want to leave yet, so I dragged the two of them to the ice cream place Kuroo had taken me to.
We sat at a table, smiling and laughing until my sister spoke. "Are you scared?" placing my ice cream on the table, slightly losing my appetite. "I thought I would, but I'm not scared at all, maybe tomorrow I will" I gave her a small smile as I sipped another spoon into my mouth as they both watched me. "I wish I was going with you to the hospital," she stated sadly. "You've got school, you gotta keep your grades up" I stuck my tongue out to her.
"You'll see her after" mum smiled at us, we all stood up ready to go home. Once we arrived, Hina immediately grabbed a hold of my hand, pulling me upstairs and into my room. "I need to get you ready!" she yelled as I could hear dad's loud laugher from downstairs. Hina touched my hair before pulling me towards the bathroom and pushing me in "you stink, go take a shower" rolling my eyes as I turned the water on.
Finally, I was all ready. The look was complete, the dress was on, the makeup and hair were done. Standing up from the chair to look in the mirror, I've come a long way. I thought this year would be like any other who would have thought. My life changed for the better. Letting out a smile as I looked at myself, it was as if I were Cinderella and my sister was my fairy godmother. This felt like a dream. Holding onto my sister's hand as we walked down the stairs, my parents stopped what they were doing to stare at me. Tears began to fall down their faces, "you better not cry" my sister looked over at me as she too had tears. They walked up to me and embraced us both.
Soon there was a knock at the door, and before I could pull away, mum raced to the door. Once she opened the door, she pulled him in and pushed him towards me. Looking at her as she held a camera, "sorry about this" I whispered to him as he stood behind me with his hands on my waist. "It's fine," Kuroo whispered into my ear as we smiled for the photo. After a few more pictures, mum spoke "Kuroo, could you take a photo of us?" He nodded as I stood in the middle with my sister with mum and dad on either side.
I didn't look at any of the images as I grabbed ahold of Kuroo's hand, "we're leaving" I shouted before rushing out the door. "Your family's nice," he said as the memories of all the ups and downs we've experienced, "Kuroo, you never talk about your family. What are they like?" I stare at him as we carry on walking, "there isn't much to say, my parents aren't around much." Nodding my head in understanding as I glance up at the night sky, there's so much I don't know about him. I want to know everything about him.
It was silent for a few minutes as we just enjoyed each other's company before I realised I didn't know where we were going. "Where are we going?" I questioned as he remained quiet with a smirk on his face, "tell me!" I demanded wanting to know, but he just tapped his nose. He caught me off guard as his face moved closer to mine, "you look really beautiful" he gently spoke. Turning away from him feeling embarrassed by the sudden compliment but he surprised me with a kiss on the cheek.
Facing him once more to see him tapping his lips, "I think I finally deserve that kiss now" we stopped walking. I still didn't know where we were. Agreeing to it as I too wanted to kiss him, "close your eyes" he whispered, and I followed his order. Popping one eye open to see his eyes were also closed, smirking as I leaned in and instead of kissing his lips, I kissed his nose before running. "Oi, that's unfair" he yelled after me. Kuroo quickly caught up to me as he grabbed my waist, pulling me towards him before spinning us around. "I got you" he quietly spoke. He leaned in as my heart beat faster. I knew that when I kissed him, he would hold control over me. Over my heart and body. Then he kissed me, pulling me further into his web. At the touch of his lips, it felt like a flower had blossomed. We pulled away from each other as we stared into one another's eyes,
"We're here" I pulled away from him as I scanned the area confused, it was just a park but when I turned around Kuroo was gone. "This way my lady" turned to the voice to see Kai standing there in a suit. "What's going on?" I asked him, but all he did was smile and give me his arm. Putting my arm through his as he guided me through the park when Yaku appeared behind and wrapped a blindfold on me. I began to feel nervous, not knowing what was happening. I trusted them but did I trust them this much. "This isn't funny guys; I don't like this" I scream when I felt something under my foot "that was just a rock" I hear Lev as he laughed at me. "Shut up" I shouted at him as Kai or whoever this was led me through the darkness for a bit, till finally taking off the mask.
When they took it off, I was speechless. It was a clearing with trees around it; there were fairy lights on the trees as if it was a magical forest with a picnic blanket in the middle with food. And there Kuroo was standing in a suit now. "What's all this?" I questioned him as Kai let me go, and Kuroo grabbed ahold of my hands. "This is all for you." He gazed into my eyes, smiling softly before waving goodbye to the team, "thanks team" they gave us a thumbs up before disappearing into the trees.
"This is amazing" I let go of his hands as I roamed around the place. "You deserve it" beaming as I saw him sitting down on the blanket. Taking my seat next to him as we began to eat. "Thank you" I spoke before kissing on both cheeks. "Thank you for making me live again".
"I would do it again" he smiled as we finished up the food.
That magical evening was over, and it was finally the day of the surgery. I woke up early and got everything ready for the hospital. Mum made me my favourite breakfast as my sister sat beside me with a pout "after school you can come see me" I smiled at her as I wiped a tear away that had fallen from her eye. We walked outside, and Hina embraced me tightly before dad opened the car door, letting me in. "I'll see you later" she nodded her head as mum hugged her. "Everything will be fine" we all got in as my sister watched us before making her way to school.
We were at the hospital early and were now waiting to be called when the nurse called. "Y/N" that was me. All three of us stood up and followed the woman. It was finally time.
