A person in all black wandered around the dark streets in the early morning. In their hand is a pile of letters addressed to all the people they hold dear to. Sliding the letters into their slots until the pile grew smaller, till there was only one left. The sun would rise soon, filling the city with a new light to guide them through the day.

A single tear glided down her face as she pushed the last letter through the mailbox. It was a cream coloured house with white framed windows, a black door that stood out from the other houses. The house was two floors filled with memories of growing up from a baby to now a teenager. This was (Y/N) childhood home, letting out a smile before pulling down her hood. Her eyes locked on her bedroom window where she'd spend most of her time in. "This is goodbye" she whispered before turning her back on the house, giving a small wave imagining her family watching her but no one was there.

Her steps were slow as her mind wandered back to her first waking up in the hospital after the surgery. No, it wasn't when she snuck out before that, she opened her eyes. However, she couldn't move. Everything hurt. She didn't even have the energy to speak, but she could hear people talking in the room. No one noticed she was awake, so she closed her eyes once more, pretending to be asleep.

"How was the surgery?" it was her mum asking the doctor, the man glanced over at the patient who was now awake listening in to their conversation. "There were some problems-" he didn't get to finish his sentence as her dad was already shouting, his body was tense. "What do you mean? What problems? What's going to happen to my little girl?" (Y/N) could hear the pain in his voice, he was on the verge of tears Her mum rubbed his back as she too held back the waterfalls.

"I'm so sorry, but with these things, there was always a risk" dad's loud sobs filled the quiet room. Her dad was usually the strong one but that night, how could a father not cry. Her mum stayed strong for the both of them urging the doctor to carry on speaking, "just say it, doctor."

"She only has hours left to live, the surgery was unsuccessful. (Y/N) might even die in her sleep."

The room turned silent at the words he spoke, her dad even stopped crying. They were too shocked to say anything. "Is there anything we can do? We will pay, please just save!" Her mum couldn't hold it anymore as the tears began. She begged the doctor as her father walked over to (Y/N), grabbing her hand and squeezing it tightly.

"We just have to pray for a miracle."

I didn't want to spend my last moments in a hospital bed. I wanted to do something that would make me happy. Tears began to leave my eyes as I turned my back on the house. I ran with no destination. The sun was now raising. Welcoming a new day.

Kuroo's POV

The light from the rising sun woke me up (Y/N) must have forgotten to close the curtains. Turning over to look at my girlfriend but as I reached for her, she wasn't there. Turning the Tv on as I got up and walked to the bathroom, but she wasn't there, "that's strange, where is she?" I questioned myself before walking back into the bedroom. My eyes spotted an envelope on one of the bedside tables. Maybe it would explain her disappearance.

Dear Kuroo,

Kuroo, you came into my life at a bad time. When I truly hated who I was and what I was becoming. I was damaged, slowly fading away into the abyss. But you fought your way, breaking down my walls and giving me your hand. You saved me, you loved me, and you made me start living my life. Without even trying, you changed my life, and I don't think I could ever explain how much you mean to me.

Sometimes I wonder if my sister didn't make that mistake and I never became the Nekoma manager, I would have never met you or the team. That would have been a nightmare. I'm grateful to everything that's happened this year even if at the time I hated it. I look back at them time, and a smile takes place on my face. Somewhere along the way, you showed me a place so different and beautiful, I can never get it out of my mind.

I never knew a safe place until I gazed into your eyes. That's where I saw my future and forgot about my past. I saw all my dreams and forgot about the things that were holding me back. You didn't even know it but that safe place, in your eyes. You saved me. You're the best thing to ever happen to me, and I love you with all my heart, but it's time. Last night was amazing, and I'm happy that it was with you. However, it's time for me to go. I'm running letting go of the chains that held me down. It's finally my time to let go of this world, I've had my time, and it wasn't the best at first, but then you appeared. Now I have happy memories that will stay with me forever.

I will look out for you and the team, so win nationals. I'll be watching.

Goodbye, Kuroo.

Tears fell down my face as I kept rereading each word, each letter on the page. This couldn't be true. She was just here yesterday, smiling at me with those beautiful eyes. (Y/N) looked so beautiful last night, she couldn't be gone.

"A high schooler was found dead on the side of the road by Nekoma high, it is confirmed to be a student from the school. Her name is-" The news was on reporting a death, hitting the screen making it crash to the floor. Falling to the ground, "please don't leave me here! I love you (Y/N)" I cried out in pain.

(Y/N) Pov:

Running was something I used to enjoy before I was no longer allowed to, my feet bounced off the ground as I ran past school. Glancing at it as I spotted the gym that held so many cherished memories of the team. He gave me them beautiful memories, thank you Kuroo. I'm sorry that it has to end like this.

Kuroo, you allowed me to be free, you took off the chains that held me down for years. Goodbye world, I'll see you in the next lifetime. Collapsing on the ground with blood spitting out of my mouth, everything hurt, but I was glad that this was the way it ended.

Under the beautiful sunrise, I died on that beautiful morning. A new day arrived. A day that I was no longer in.

The end

Thank you to everyone who has stayed till the end. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and carries on to support me on my other books. This is my favourite book that I've written and I don't care how many reads it gets because I'm so proud of it.
