Gianna's P.O.V

After taxing morning of piano lessons, math tutors, writing, dance lessons, and foreign language, around lunch time the children are beat. You're driving them back to the house for a quick lunch and then back to their hectic schedules.

"I don't want to do school anymore"

"You don't do school, Grayson. You do school work"

Great now starts the arguing.

You angle the rear view mirror at them, and give them a sympathetic smile.

"Only a couple more things and then you guys can relax for dinner"

"We never get to relax. Dad doesn't know what that means"

You're telling me.

You snort, attempting to hold back your laughter and failing miserably.

I mean, would it really hurt if they missed one lesson for one day? Their children for god sake.

"What would you like to do?"

"Play!"

Grayson bounces in his seat, a large smile on his mouth as you continue to indulge him.

"You want to play?"

You turn your gaze over to Rissa, who looks annoyed but intrigued.

"How about you, Rissa? You want to play too?"

Rissa firms her lips, glancing out the window before she nods slowly.

"How about we eat and play at the park? I'll take the blame for it and tell daddy it was all my idea"

"Yay! The park! Can we have chicken nuggets?"

"Can we?"

"Of course we can"

You pull into he nearest drive through, order their food, and head to the nearest park on your GPS. Both kids are visibly excited, even Rissa who doesn't like to smile. It makes you feel warm and giddy inside.

Its definitely needed for them. They have the schedules of an adult.

When you pull into the parking lot to the park, Grayson's already unlatching his belt. He reaches for his handle struggling to open the door and finally pushing it open before he scrambles out and on to the grass.

"Wait a second, Grayson!"

"We haven't been to the park in a while"

I can see that.

You nod, grabbing their nugget melas and following Grayson over to the park where a few picnic tables sit under a pavilion.

"Grayson, you need to eat first, then play!"

Grayson halts, twisting to face you with a pout on his face. He puckers out his lower lip and stomps back over to you.

"I want to play now!"

"Not until you're done eating. Or no play at all. We can leave if you don't want to eat lunch"

Grayson shakes his head, and reaches for his nuggets.

"Fine, I'll eat!"

You set their meals on a table, and watch as they both abide and begin eating.

God maybe I can get away with it and their dad wont find out. He's so uptight.

Your phone vibrates and dings in your pocket. You pull it out, popping a few of your own fries into your mouth, and chew thoughtfully as you peer at the screen. Its your best friend, Natalie.
