Gianna's P.O.V
At the notion of losing Rissa, Jeremiah's fury cant be contained. His tension is evident in the vein that bulges from his neck as he clenches his jaw, a murderous gaze lingering on Vivian.
"Don't make a scene"
"Over my dead body will you ever keep my child from me"
How could they start this here of all places?' And blame me? It's ridiculous.
Vivian glances at Jeremiah, her cheeks a splotchy red colour as she sucks back a deep breath and points to the back of the church where their exit is.
"You need to leave."
"I'm not fucking going anywhere"
"Jeremiah..."
Tom's warning tone does little to dissuade Jeremiah's determination. Jeremiah shoves an angered finger against his own chest, and spews venomous words at them.
"You want to blame me? Want to blame Gianna? All for your daughter's own lack of self-control"
Vivian gasps.
"I was there for her just as much as you! I was the one who continuously rescued her from the streets for months! Fucking months! She disappointed her children, stole from my household. All for her fucking fix, but i still remained..."
Jeremiah's pained by the memory. It makes his voice crack, but no tears fall.
This is the rawest emotion he's shown.. it's awful that its in this circumstance.
"Ive footed her entire rehabilitation bill, even after we divorced, and you're going to accuse me if being her downfall?"
He laughs mirthlessly, no humour lining his face as he shakes his head.
"Fine. Have it your fucking way. Pay the rest of your daughters bills. And leave me and my children they fuck out of it"
To steps forward, placing a firm hand on Jeremiah's shoulder. Jeremiah shoves it away and steps forward.
"Leave. Now"
"No one is going to tell me to fucking leave"
A first swings out of nowhere. Knuckles connecting with jaws. Bones cracking beneath the pressure. You don't even realise they're fighting until you're shoved out of the way. Your mouth's agape, eyes steadily trailing the blood that explodes from open wounds.
All of the torment and pain... thank god the kids aren't here!
Jeremiah and Tom throw blows until Tom's fallen backwards onto the floor. Jeremiah's chest heaves up and down exaggeratedly as he straightens the suit jacket, and addresses Tom whose expression is dazed as Vivian attempts to rouse him from the clutches of a lost fight.
"If anyone has been a culprit of Helena's downfall, it was the chaos you raised her in. Wont let that happen to my children"
Jeremiah straightens his suit jacket. Your eyes are wide, as you examine Jeremiah's bruised face, blood leaks from a cut on his lip.
"Jeremiah..."
His eyes finally drift towards you, and his face softens like you're his peace through the storm. You move to his, reaching for his hand, and inhaling a sharp breath when he hisses from the contact.
"Sorry"
"Lets go"
He turns, and you follow, lead by his hand back the way you entered. Once outside the church, Jeremiah releases your hand and shoves it agitatedly through his hair, eyes crinkling from the pain that lances through him from his bruised knuckles. The area around his left eye has already started to swell.
