MI6 Agent Josephine Langford believed to be missing, 'is alive' according to the UK's SIS, Secret Intelligence Service.

British Prime Minister Bojan Johnstown said there were indications she was being held somewhere near Leavesden, North Watford northwest of London by a terrorist group named Fitra affiliated with the former Iraqi government.

He added that although he was unable to make appeals on a humanitarian basis to the now toppled Iraqi government, he did appeal to Fitra to have her return safely to her family. In exchange, the British government is willing to release three Fitra prisoners.

Negotiations have been attempted since the prisoners the British government is willing to release are not the ones requested by Fitra. The prisoners named by Fitra are notorious terrorists and are scheduled to stand trial for their crimes.

"As the government of Iraq has previously offered its assistance in such matters, we respectfully request that in its place, Fitra undertake humanitarian efforts to return and reunite Josephine with her family safely," Mr. Johnstown said.

For the past two years, SIS had feared that Langford had died. There was no trace of her despite confirmation that she had landed back on British soil from the Middle East.

Her family has received firm evidence that she is, in fact, alive and seemingly well based on video footage as reported by the Associated Press news agency.

Details of the evidence have not been released because officials do not want to hinder rescue efforts, correspondents say.

Langford's partner, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, released a statement late Thursday morning upon receiving the news.

"I am tremendously encouraged by the news that Josephine is alive but remain concerned for her well-being and safety

"I am tremendously encouraged by the news that Josephine is alive but remain concerned for her well-being and safety. I await the day we will be reunited," He said.

Tiffin is the only known contact of Langford, and it is believed he is her common-law partner as the two are not officially married, although Tiffin seems to avoid commenting on their status formally.

Langford had been working for SIS for two years before she went missing in March of 2019.

A clip from the video was released, but no further information is being provided to the press due to the ongoing investigation

A/N: Surprise news update to move the story along!

We now have the flashbacks that will continue to occur in the chapter updates. The chapter updates will be treated as current time. We then have intermittent BBC News updates on the future timeline.

The flashbacks will continue as I find them a good narrative tool with this plot, but the current and future timelines will eventually catch up. I hope it is still easy enough to follow along.

The next update will be a full chapter w/ a flashback - I cannot commit to when this will be published since my other novel is in the thick of its plot at the moment.

Until then...
Stay safe, and thank you for your support and votes! 🙏💕✌
