Carter's POV:
"Okay, I've made a decision" Sylvie announces as she leaps over the back of the couch and sits next to me, she holds a tub of cookie dough ice cream, her favourite, in one hand and two spoons in the other. "What is it?" I ask her, placing my hand on her thigh as she raises her legs to place on top of my lap. "Yes" is all she replies with, a massive smile on her face. "Yes...?" I stretch out as I practically beg for her to continue. She rolls her eyes and settles back on the arm rest of the couch behind her, "the question you asked me at the cemetery, great place for that by the way, anyways. I told you I would think about it and the answer is yes" she continues.
I instantly understand what she's speaking about. My body fills with adrenaline as a smile stretches across my face. "Seriously?" I ask her, excitedly. She nods her head in confirmation. I throw myself forward and wrap my arms around her in a hug, she begins to laugh out loudly as she releases the tub of ice cream and pulls her arms through to hug me back.
I lay on top of her for a while before she speaks up, breaking the silence, "you're really fat and it's starting to hurt me". This causes me to chuckle as I slowly lift myself off her, she stays in the same position, dramatically taking in air as if it's the first time she's breathed it in years. "Thank you" she finally breathes out.
It's been two days and Enzo still hasn't reappeared again, at least from what I know. The only thing I know for sure, is that I will do whatever I can possibly do to make sure Sylvie comes to no harm.
Everything about her is so perfect, from the way the corners of her eyes crinkle when she smiles, to the way her laugh floats through the air like a melody, so perfect and smooth. Or the way her long hair flows behind her as she walks or runs. Even from the inside, she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, the most beautiful sight I've ever laid my eyes upon. Even when she's not trying, like right now in my hoodie with her hair tied up. She's been through hell, but still makes me want to be a better man. For myself, for my friends, but most of all, for her.
"Stop looking at me" Sylvie throws a spoon onto my lap as she shys away from my sight and opens the lid of the tub of cookie dough on her lap.
Sylvie's POV:
"Sylvie!" An unfamiliar voice screams out from behind me. I turn around and to my surprise, I notice the blonde hair and expensive looking suit. Fear building up inside of me, I turn back around and walk away faster, pulling out my phone and dialling Carter's number.
I look over my left shoulder as the number dials and begin to relax when I notice he is no longer there. The phone continues to ring as I stop walking and catch my breath.
Just as I hear Carter's voice through the speakers, my phone is grabbed from out of my hand and the man holding it ends the call. He approaches me with my phone in hand, I walk backwards to maintain the space between us until I feel my back hit the brick wall.
"Enzo" I announce, "glad you remember me" he smirks back, inches between our faces. "What do you want?" I snap at him. Enzo thankfully pulls his head back and distances himself from me, "I just want to talk" he answers honestly.
I stay silent for a moment before responding, "if you really just wanted to talk then why do you have my phone and have me backed against the wall" I glance towards the wall behind me, and back into his deep brown eyes. "Okay, you make a good point" he exclaims, pushing his forearms off the wall and taking multiple steps back and away from me.
Enzo lifts my phone up to his waist and looks down at it, ensuring the call with Carter had ended. He lifts his eyes back to me, "promise you won't call anyone?" He asks me. I hesitate, but agree nonetheless. "Promise you'll let me talk to you and won't run away?" He adds, I nod my head in agreement. "Okay" he passes me my phone, to which I gingerly grasp from his hands.
